Here are some typical roles and responsibilities for a Business Development Executive (BDE) in IT Sales:

Prospecting and Lead Generation:


  • Identify and research potential clients and key decisionmakers in target industries.

Client Relationship Management:


  • Build and nurture relationships with existing clients to understand their evolving needs and preferences.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for client inquiries, concerns, and feedback.
  • Provide timely and professional responses to client inquiries and requests.

Sales Strategy Development:


  • Develop and implement strategic sales plans to achieve revenue targets and business objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, competitor activities, and new business opportunities.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to tailor sales strategies and solutions to meet client requirements.

Proposal Preparation and Presentation:


  • Prepare persuasive sales proposals, presentations, and demonstrations that highlight the value proposition of our IT products or services.
  • Present proposals to prospective clients in a clear, compelling, and engaging manner.
  • Address client objections and concerns effectively to move the sales process forward.

Negotiation and Closing:


  • Negotiate terms and conditions of contracts, pricing, and payment terms with clients to secure profitable deals.
  • Close sales agreements and ensure all necessary paperwork and documentation are completed accurately and efficiently.
  • Follow up with clients after the sale to ensure satisfaction and identify opportunities for upselling or crossselling.

Sales Pipeline Management:


  • Manage and maintain a robust sales pipeline of qualified leads and opportunities.
  • Track and monitor sales activities, progress, and outcomes using CRM software or other sales management tools.
  • Forecast sales projections and provide regular reports to management on sales performance and trends.

Continuous Learning and Development:


  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to IT sales and business development.
  • Participate in training programs, workshops, and conferences to enhance sales skills and knowledge.
  • Actively seek feedback and coaching to improve performance and achieve professional growth.
