MAIN PURPOSE OF THE POSITION
A supportive role to the LMS Solutions Analyst to perform overall technical and functional upkeep and maintenance of the Regenesys online learning platform (Moodle) to ensure uptime, performance, stability, usage and change control that supports the student learning experience.
Support the LMS Solution Analyst to manage site improvements projects, execute technical development, facilitate student usage and improve realtime user access as per Regenesys' strategic direction.
Support the LMS Solution Analyst to drive the progressive evolution of the site so that a highquality learning environment is delivered to all intended stakeholders.

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

_Core, essential responsibilities / outputs of the position (KPA's)_

Platform Administration
As the responsible functionary to ensure the effectiveness of the platform who will work as a supportive role for the LMS solutions Analyst to be able to:

Manage all instances of the Regenesys online learning platform (development, testing and live instances)
Maintain the site in terms of setting up its theme, courses, modules, users, settings and policies
Conduct system maintenance (version upgrades, plugin installations) to ensure optimal performance and usability
Manage analytical tools to ensure accurate reporting including the development of custommade reports in Power BI
Manage site backups and recovery processes
Object-Oriented Design (OOD) to ensure scalability and maintainability
Responsible for platform access and security.

Platform Improvements

Moodle upgrades and plugins
Improvement initiatives by liaising with internal business users to adequately understand, develop, test, train and implement site improvements
Engage with external service providers to achieve intended improvements (where necessary)
Continually investigate new technologies/solutions/plugins to enhance the site
Enhance platform (user experience and functionality)

Site Development

Undertake technical (PHP ,CSS, Javascript / JQuery/ AJAX / AngularJS

and HTML) development initiatives to enhance the platform and work with the Senior PHP developer

Setup of site analytics and Power BI reporting as per the Regenesys needs
Ensure accurate technical integration with the Institution's internal systems in collaboration with the IT development team.
Conducting functional and unit testing
Research and development new technology and solutions in the Moodle community

Stakeholder engagement

Engage with all internal stakeholders to ensure adequate site functioning and use, and identify improvements
Address and resolve technical and site issues raised by internal users to improve site efficiencies
Liaise with relevant service providers to ensure site availability and performance
Responsible to deliver high levels of service to all platform users and stakeholders
Engaging with external stakeholders to understand platform utilisation and user experience e.g. Moodle community

Ownership of the Platform

Be open to honest constructive criticism and suggested improvements
Ensure data integrity and liaise with the LMS Solutions Analyst to ensure that all environments are secure.
Forster the sharing of technical Moodle knowledge within the team

ESSENTIAL WORK EXPERIENCE

Minimum three years' experience in:
LMS administration (Moodle)
PHP development

BENEFICAL WORK EXPERIENCE

Content authoring (Articulate, Captivate, SCORM packages)
UX design (PC and mobile interfaces)
Track record of project management
API knowledge
Understanding Azure
Working with Linux
Agile Technologies

KEY FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE (AREAS OF EXPERTISE)

Moodle Platform

Moodle (setup ,customization and version updates)
Plugin Management
Gradebook setup
Restrictions and restriction sets
Repositories and asset management
Intermediate Knowledge of IIS

Programing

Intermediate to advance programming experience (C#,PHP, CSS, Javascript / JQuery/ AJAX / AngularJS and HTML)
Understanding of web services protocols such as REST, SOAP and API design for extensibility and portability
Ability to use version control software such as GIT/SVN/TFS
Design, develop and implement unit and scenario testing for existing code base and for new functionality under development.

Reporting and Analytics

Intermediate to advance knowledge of relational databases (e.g. PostgreSQL, MySQL and MSSQL)
Experience in debugging distributed systems with high data loads
Intermediate Power BI for all reporting purposes
