Roles and Responsibilities

As an Embedded Control and Firmware Engineer in our Propulsion Team, a Global Electrical, Embedded,& Connected Systems Team, you will be a pivotal member driving the development and platforming ofelectronic control units and components. This includes ECU hardware/software requirements,diagnostics, and communications for domains including but not limited to vehicle propulsion, body,braking, electric drive, and connected controllers. You will work with the vehicle product teams to

- integrate these subsystems in order to meet the needs of vehicle product, their platforms, and derivatives

Responsibilities include:

Working with the product team's electrical and system engineers to understand and decompose vehicle system level requirements into controller hardware and software requirements

Document requirements and validation tests using requirement management tool
Interface with vendor(s) as needed for component/module development, ensuring quality is met
Interface with other Subject Matter Experts to ensure I/O analysis is completed and

- communications are defined

Electronics board bringup test
Lowlevel embedded firmware development in C
Model-Based Development using Matlab & Simulink.
Develop & execute controller, system, vehiclelevel validation plans/procedures for HW and SW including MIL/SIL/HIL simulation and/or bench/vehicle testing
Maintain controller development project plans and/or supports projects engineers in doing so
Provide update on controller development schedule/status to clarify deliverable expectationsDesired CriteriaMasters in Engineering/Technology in Engineering required; Electrical, Electronics, or

Engineering Design desired
5+ years' experience in design and/or implementation of controls, especially related to vehicle controls/diagnostics/communication required
Previous hands-on experience in ECU Development for xEV
Experience with communication networks required, CAN is strongly preferred with hands-on in integration of CAN stack. Ethernet experience is desired.
Experience with software and/or hardware V&V including MIL/SIL/HIL
Experience with DFMEA, SFMEA, and Functional Safety desired
Embedded hardware design experience a plus
Experience in MBD using Matlab/Simulink is desired
Experience in programming in C, Python, Matlab
Strong engineering intuition
Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
Ability to rapidly adapt with changing information and requirements- Role:_Design Engineer
