Women's Wear Sampling Tailor in a Buying House
Position Overview:
As a Women's Wear Sampling Tailor in a buying house, his primary responsibility will be to create high-quality sample garments for women's clothing lines. He will work closely with the design and product development teams to bring their concepts and designs to life. His attention to detail and expertise in garment construction will ensure that the samples meet the desired specifications and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Sample Development:
Collaborate with the design team to understand the requirements and specifications for each sample garment.
Interpret technical sketches, patterns, and design instructions to create accurate sample garments.
Ensure that the samples are produced within the given timelines and meet the required quality standards.
Garment Construction:
1. Cut fabrics according to patterns and layouts provided.
2. Assemble garments using various sewing techniques, such as stitching, serging, and finishing.
3. Pay attention to details like seams, hems, zippers, buttons, and other closures to ensure a professional finish.
4. Make necessary alterations and adjustments to samples based on feedback from the design team.
Quality Assurance:
1. Inspect sample garments for any defects, inconsistencies, or inaccuracies.
2. Identify and address any issues related to fit, fabric, construction, or finishing.
3. Maintain high standards of quality throughout the sample production process.
Communication and Collaboration:
1. Communicate regularly with the design and product development teams to provide updates on sample progress and discuss any challenges or concerns.
2. Work collaboratively with other team members, such as pattern makers and sample coordinators, to streamline the sample development process.
Documentation:
1. Keep detailed records of sample specifications, alterations, and any other relevant information.
2. Maintain an organized inventory of fabrics, trims, and other materials used for sample production.
Requirements:
Proven experience as a tailor or sample maker, specifically in women's wear.
1. In-depth knowledge of garment construction techniques and sewing machinery.
2. Proficiency in interpreting technical sketches, patterns, and design instructions.
3. Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for quality.
4. Excellent problem-solving and time management skills.
5. Effective communication and collaboration abilities.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.
Alterations:
1. Able to alter the pieces of production if any.
2. Alteration in products of all women's wear category.
Salary:
₹10, ₹17,000.00 per month
Ability to commute/relocate:
- Faridabad, Haryana: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (required)
Experience:
- total work: 3 years (preferred)
