Quantitative Research - Securitized Products Group - Associate
Mumbai, India

We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team in Mumbai.

The Securitized Products Group QR team's mission is to develop and maintain sophisticated mathematical models, cutting-edge methodologies and infrastructure to value and hedge financial transactions ranging from vanilla flow products to complex derivative deals, as well as improve the performance of algorithmic trading strategies and promote advanced electronic solutions to our clients worldwide.

We work closely with trading desks to develop statistical arbitrage strategies along with other quantitative trading and risk models.


In addition, we are providing on job training, intensive internal classroom training, and online courses, all given by our experienced quants.

You'll contribute to the firm's product innovation, effective risk management, financial risk controls.

Specially, you'll have the chance to:

  • Develop mathematical models for pricing, hedging and risk measurement of derivatives securities
  • Develop mathematical models and systems for electronic trading activities
  • Support both OTC and electronic trading activities by explaining model behavior, identifying major sources of risk in portfolios, carrying out scenario analyses, developing and delivering quantitative tools, and researching for new trading ideas.
  • Build various quantitative models and assess their appropriateness and their limitations, identifying and monitoring the associated model risks
  • Implement risk measurement, valuation models or algorithmic trading modules in software and systems
  • Design efficient numerical algorithms and implementing high performance computing solutions

Minimum Skills, Experience and Qualifications

  • Minimum experience required is 3+ years.
  • You're interested in market microstructures and quantitative trading within global markets
  • You understand the different types of risks and you can discuss in detail ways of managing these risks.
  • You demonstrate quantitative and problemsolving skills as well as research skills
  • You understand advanced mathematics arising in financial modeling including probability theory, stochastic calculus, numerical analysis, optimization, statistics
  • You are familiar with tools and methods of exploratory data analysis, visualization and modeling in Python e.g., pandas, scipy, Jupyter
  • You bring computer programming experience such as use of python/C++/other programming languages in an academic/commercial environment]
  • You quickly grasp business concepts outside immediate area of expertise and adapt to rapidly changing business needs
  • You think strategically and creatively when faced with problems and opportunities. You always look for new ways of doing things in collaboration with the team
  • You have strong interpersonal skills you listen and communicate in a direct, succinct manner
  • Your excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, can engage and influence partners and stakeholders You are good at communicating concepts and ideas, also via documentation, and you are keen to defend their validity and tailor messages to different audiences

Additional Skills, Experience and Qualifications
The following additional items will be considered but are not required for this role

  • Background in Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science, etc. Relevant academic research publications a plus
  • Markets experience and general trading concepts and terminology is useful to be familiar with
  • Knowledge of Fixed Income markets, in particular securitized products and models, financial regulations, is a plus, but it's not strict requirement
  • Experience with coding, data schemas and data structures required in this role
  • Orientation towards careful system solution design, implementation and testing
