As a Research Analyst in the Industry team you will be responsible for liaising with analysts, freelancers, economics, subedit and production teams to create forward-looking reports and articles to keep clients abreast of trends that will impact their businesses.

You will also be expected to check the quality of our data and forecasts for key industries.


Accountabilities:

How you will contribute:


Produce high-quality forecasts, reports and articles for

assigned industries

  • Produce and monitor forecasts for your assigned industry reports, under supervision from the Principal Analyst. Work with the economics team to maintain and correct the workbooks for your assigned reports.
  • Work with the Industry Manager and Principal Analyst to create, commission and process industry reports from first edit to production, ensuring that the schedule is maintained. Answer subedit queries on the industry as and when required.
  • Write, edit and check assigned industry reports, ensuring that you are aware of major events and trends affecting the markets covered.
  • Write articles and updaters for your industry, focusing on how events will affect future developments and meeting targets set by your manager.
  • Two to three years of experience analyzing/reporting on financial services (banking/insurance) or a related industry such as construction/infrastructure.
  • Experience with analysing, ordering and transforming numerical data using Microsoft Excel

Use your expertise externally and internally

  • Support the Principal Analyst and other team members in producing white papers and other special content as needed.
  • Support the consulting team to deliver client briefings and bespoke research projects as and when required
  • Support other members of the team as necessary

Experience, skills and professional attributes:

The ideal skills for this job are:

  • Strong writing and editing skills in English, and an ability to write well under time pressure.
  • Some familiarity with business, economics, finance or international affairs.
  • A degree related to the above
  • Strong numeracy and an interest in forecasting.
  • The ability to juggle different tasks effectively and to work as part of a team.
