    EXPERTISE AND QUALIFICATIONS

    Site Reliability Engineer

    We are looking for SRE to support application development and infrastructure from the start by automating workflows to keep the software deployment workflow from slowing down. The ideal individual will work closely with the Architects, quality assurance and development teams throughout the application lifecycle to achieve application availability, scalability and operational effectiveness. The position also offers to achieve & maintain the uptime, performance and scalability of very low latency and high traffic apps hosted on microservice platforms. The candidate will work with cutting-edge technology leveraging Containers, Kubernetes, Jenkins, Saltstack, Kafka, Redis, RabbitMQ, Elastic Search, GitLab, MySQL, Scylla, Service Mesh, Prometheus, Loki etc

    Roles and Responsibilities

    ● Managing Availability, Performance, and Capacity of infrastructure and applications.

    ● Building and implementing observability for applications health/performance/capacity.

    ● Optimizing On-call rotations and processes.

    ● Documenting "tribal" knowledge.

    ● Collaborate with Dev & platform team in managing Infrastructure:

    Kubernetes

    CI&CD

    Observability (Prometheus/New Relic/ELK)

    Cloud Platforms (GCP)

    Datastores (Kafka, Redis, ES etc)

    MySQL Databases.

    ● Providing help in onboarding new services with the production readiness review process.

    ● Providing reports on services SLO/Error Budgets/Alerts and Operational Overhead.

    ● Working with Dev and Product teams to define SLO/Error Budgets/Alerts.

    ● Working with the Dev team to have an in-depth understanding of the application architecture and its bottlenecks.

    ● Identifying observability gaps in product services, and infrastructure and working with stake owners to fix it.

    ● Managing Outages and doing detailed RCA with developers and identifying ways to

    avoid that situation.

    ● Managing/Automating upgrades of the infrastructure services.

    ● Automate toil work.

    Experience & Skills

    • 3+ Years of experience as an Infrastructure Engineer on large-scale microservices and infrastructure.
    • Strong experience with monitoring and alerting tools such as Grafana, Prometheus, or New Relic
    • A collaborative spirit with the ability to work across disciplines to influence, learn and deliver.
    • Demonstrated skills in Java-based application troubleshooting experience.
    • A good grasp of application performance & observability - Grafana dashboards.
    • Functional knowledge of microservice architecture & hands-on experience with K8s-based workload troubleshooting & best practices.
    • Expertise in GCP and/or other relevant Cloud Infrastructure solutions like AWS.
    • Hands-on experience in CI/CD with tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, Spinnaker, Argo(preferred) etc.
    • Hands-on experience in Gitops and managing helm-based deployments.
    • Functional knowledge of data stores is a plus (MySQL, Kafka, PostgreSQL, Aerospike, Couchbase, Scylla, Cassandra, Elasticsearch).
    • Must be good in any of the scripting languages - Shell, Python or Go.
