Job Summary:


Technical expert and overall architect of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) engineering software tool that is used by Garrett engineering and manufacturing teams users) to develop products for customers.

This role is the technical lead of this enterprise tool and provides key expertise that impacts the current system's performance, upgrades and enhancements, collaborates with the business on design improvements, researches and evaluates future replacement PLM systems, and guides development resources to ensure any technical developments are properly built and implemented correctly.


Key Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Evaluates and tests new PLM tools/products:

Owns and coordinates in technical testing and is major contributor to evaluation of any new PLM tools/products considered for implementation.

Provides technical recommendations to business owners and senior leadership.

Takes technical expert role to interact with solution providers to ensure alignment of technical deliverables and also connects them to our business objectives.

Major contributor to enterprise tools 5-yr strategy.

  • Technical product collaboration with business process owners and code development team to develop solutions:

Serves as the business and technical link between the development team and business owners to collaborate together to discover the most effective solutions for development.

Understands requirements from the business and translates them into a developer language where development is done, and it meets the business requirements effectively.

Ultimately architects' solutions that enable our business develop products efficiently.

  • Sets code development standards to align with overall architecture design:
Sets coding and configuration standards for PLM system and PLM-related tools based on Garrett and best industry standards. Consulted by developers - on meeting the standard and implementing automated tools for coding enforcement.

  • Major technical production issues resolutions:

When the development or support team cannot resolve technical issues after initial troubleshooting, they will then escalate the issue and possible solutions to the solutions architect (SA) for consultation.

SA reviews external and internal technical resources and provides expert consultation to ensure resolution of major technical issues. Also is consulted on high-risk areas and provides mitigation plans to address them.


Education/Qualification:


  • Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Agile/scrum software development certified.

Experience:


  • 5+ years of experience of Solutions Architect.
  • 5+ years of code development experience in a major PLM platform (i.e. ENOVIA, Windchill, TeamCenter).
  • 5+ years of experience with languages in JAVA (JPO), SQL, MQL, TCL and Linux/Unix shell scripting.
  • 3+ years of expertise in PLM schema (types, attributes, policies, UI components).
  • 5+ years of enterprise PLM software new or major upgrades implementation experience.
  • 2+ years of experience preferred with LWC Salesforce Lightning Web Components.

Key Skills and Knowledge:


  • Expert level of knowledge/experience in PLM industry product/tools software code development.
  • Ability to design software solutions to meet business requirements while staying withing the capabilities of the software platform/tool.
  • Quickly can learn how a software tool can work through demonstrations and evaluate it to competing tools to select the best solution based on criteria.
  • Troubleshoots technical issues with PLM tool and can provide short term fixes, root cause analysis, and longterm resolutions.
  • Collaborates well with individuals from different regions and cultures, and that are vendors, internal crossfunctional team members, end users, and stakeholders on achieving a common product solution.
