About the Organization

Swaniti Initiative works with governments globally to enhance climate action and economic development through public service delivery and policy-oriented research.


Swaniti's interventions have included:
(a)strengthening policy implementation by identifying gaps and limitations,
(b)providing research support to elected representatives, and
(c)developing data-technology tools to support decision-making in public policy.

Major work streams of Swaniti's are climate and sustainability, social protection, and livelihood.

Although Swaniti has extensive work programs in South Africa, it is growing globally into countries such as the United States and Brazil to become a global voice on climate change and sustainability issues.


Responsibilities:


  • Planning and designing highquality layouts for research reports, policy briefs, brochures, posters etc.
  • Conceptualizing and creating a wide range of high quality graphics and layouts for illustrations and logos for publications or events.
  • Coordinating with the team, editors and printers as necessary.
  • Reviewing final layouts and designs.
  • Ability and keenness to work in evolving situations and handle short deadlines, if needed

Qualifications Required

Bachelor's and Master's in graphic design or related fields; and at least 3-5 years of experience as a graphic designer or in a related field.


Skills and Attributes

  • Proficiency with required desktop publishing tools, including Photoshop, InDesign, Quark, and Illustrator.
  • A strong eye for visual composition.
  • Ability to work with nondesigners to create contentrelevant graphics and designs.
  • Effective time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability for high quality production and multimedia design.
  • Preferred: coding experience (Python, etc.)
  • Preferred: experience with typography.
  • Preferred: experience with information design.
  • Content Visualization and familiarity with graphic designing tools.
