Deputy General Manager (DGM) New Product Development


Position Overview:


As the Deputy General Manager (DGM) of New Product Development, you will play a key role in driving innovation and leading the development of new products for the fastener company in Faridabad.

You will be responsible for managing the entire product development lifecycle, from conceptualization to commercialization.

Your focus will be on identifying market opportunities, conducting research and development activities, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative and high-quality products that meet customer needs and drive business growth.


Responsibilities:

Lead the overall new product development strategy and roadmap, aligned with the company's business objectives and market trends.


Conduct market research and analysis to identify customer needs, market gaps, and emerging trends, translating insights into new product opportunities.


Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, manufacturing, and marketing, to ensure effective coordination and successful execution of new product development projects.

Manage the entire product development lifecycle, from idea generation and concept development to prototyping, testing, and commercialization.


Utilize project management methodologies to define project scope, timelines, and resource requirements, ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget.


Coordinate and lead cross-functional teams in brainstorming sessions, design reviews, and technical discussions to foster innovation and ensure product feasibility.

Conduct feasibility studies, cost analysis, and risk assessments to evaluate the viability and profitability of new product concepts.

Oversee the development and testing of prototypes, working closely with engineering teams to ensure design integrity, performance, and manufacturability.


Collaborate with the manufacturing department to optimize production processes, streamline workflows, and ensure efficient scale-up and commercialization of new products.

Ensure compliance with applicable industry standards, regulations, and quality requirements throughout the product development process.

Monitor competitive landscape, technological advancements, and market trends to identify opportunities for product enhancements and differentiation.

Foster a culture of innovation and continuous improvement within the product development team, promoting creativity, collaboration, and knowledge sharing.

Manage and allocate resources effectively, including budgeting, staffing, and external partnerships, to support new product development initiatives.

Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop product positioning, pricing strategies, and go-to-market plans for new product launches.

Monitor and analyze post-launch performance metrics, customer feedback, and market response to drive product enhancements and improvements.


Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, product development, or a related field. A master's degree or MBA would be advantageous.

Proven experience in a leadership role overseeing new product development, preferably within the fastener industry or related manufacturing sector.

Strong knowledge of product development processes, including ideation, design, prototyping, testing, and commercialization.

Excellent understanding of market research and analysis techniques, with the ability to translate customer insights into innovative product concepts.

Familiarity with engineering design principles, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to the fastener industry.

Experience in project management, including defining project scope, timelines, and resource allocation.


Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess market feasibility, conduct cost analysis, and manage risk in new product development projects.


Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

Proven track record of successfully bringing new products to market, meeting project milestones, and achieving commercial success.
