Their specific roles and responsibilities may vary depending on the school or program, but generally include:


  • Developing and implementing policies, procedures, and curriculum that align with state and local regulations and best practices in early childhood education
  • Managing the budget and financial operations of the center
  • Hiring, training, and supervising staff members, including teachers and support staff
  • Maintaining records and documentation for compliance with licensing and accreditation requirements
  • Communicating with parents and guardians to keep them informed about the center's activities and their child's progress
  • Building and maintaining relationships with community partners, such as other schools, organizations, and businesses
