DESCRIPTION

As part of a department transition from Singapore to Bangalore, this middle office opportunity sits within the Private Wealth Management (PWM) Asia Operations team based in Bangalore, an PWM Operations hub with a growing presence year-on-year.

PWM Operations has a strong presence in Bangalore, Hong Kong, Australia, and Singapore
PWM Operations support the PWM business unit located in Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia.

PWM is a Morgan Stanley private banking business centered on providing investment/banking solutions to its Ultra High Net Worth client base.


TEAM PROFILE

Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Monitoring trading systems and booking trades on a TD basis
  • Perform daily reconciliation and clearance of positions/balances breaks, timely escalate to supervisor on any outstanding breaks by day end.
  • Daily interaction with the Sales & Trading Desks and PWM business unit answering via phone any adhoc requests/trade related questions
  • Ensure that colleagues are adequately cross trained to cover planned or unplanned absence.
  • Escalation and thorough documentation of all issues / breaks to Supervisor / Manager.
  • Actively embrace process reengineering to streamline / improve existing processes. Active involvement in project work.
  • Ensure compliance / adherence with Service Level Agreements.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • At least 48 years' experience (depending on role grade) in the financial services sector such as a middle office / trade support role. Relevant experience in cash equity, fixed income, mutual funds, hedge funds, structured notes/derivatives products will be an added advantage.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities. The role will require daily phone calls with traders and PWM business unit.
  • Superb attention to detail, accuracy & quality, with mathematical skills (PnL calculations)#
  • Strong time management and task prioritization skills. Ability to work Hong Kong hours to ensure all deliverables are performed within required timescales before day end.
  • Focus on risk guardianship, ensuring that issues are identified, escalated, resolved and reported on a timely basis
  • Passion, energy and enthusiasm. Is a selfstarter who takes individual ownership for work quality and improvement.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and time criticality tasks considering the T+0 nature of the transactions
  • Ability to absorb information and learns quickly whilst displaying selfstarter characteristics.
  • Innovation and continuous improvements: mindset to challenge the existing processes and status quo.
  • Required strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel (including formulas and managing large scale data)
