    Description

    This job opportunity is within the DPE (Digital Platforms & Engineering) group to work on enterprise initiatives and technical projects for Fisher Scientific eCommerce website. The candidate will use LucidWorks Search, SOLR, and JAVA technologies to provide technical solutions for business needs. Responsibilities include implementing and maintaining web applications that interact with Product, Content, Search, and E-Commerce systems.

    The ideal candidate should have experience as an Engineer III, offering architectural and design leadership to multiple Software Development Scrum Teams in eCommerce. This role involves leading development efforts, system design, code review, testing, and providing guidance to team members. Additionally, the candidate will participate in Agile ceremonies and contribute to software development standards.

    Job Function:

    • Collaborate with the development team to design, develop, and maintain Java-based web applications.
    • Act as a technical lead for the product and engage in all Agile ceremonies.
    • Implement LucidWorks, Solr search functionalities.
    • Participate in software development, integration, testing, and code reviews.
    • Focus on quality and continuous improvement.
    • Contribute to building the knowledge of the technical team.
    • Expertise in Object-Oriented Design, software qualities, and engineering functions.

    Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
    • 5+ years of experience in developing web applications using Java.
    • Experience with AWS, Microservices Architecture, databases, and design principles.
    • Proficiency in object-oriented programming and design patterns.
    • Experience with Solr and knowledge of Kafka and Spring Batch.
    • Skills in monitoring platforms, Docker, Kubernetes, troubleshooting, and problem-solving.
    • Strong team player with experience in Agile methodologies.
    • Knowledge of TDD, CI/CD, GIT, JIRA, Confluence, and UI technologies.
    • Ability to handle deadlines, production issues, and work in a fast-paced environment.
    • Flexible to work overlapping hours and attend onshore calls.
