    The Amazon Books team is seeking a Support Engineer to improve workflows, reduce manual workload through application development and process automation.

    The candidate will develop production applications and services to ensure a positive customer experience that is inline with Amazon business objectives.

    They have an understanding and empathy for Amazon's customers and business objectives, particularly those aspects relevant to the team and division (where "division" is an organization which can include about 150 people).The Application engineer will continually align their work with Amazon's business objectives and seek to deliver business value.

    They proactively and continually improve their level of knowledge about Amazon's business and relevant technologies. They regularly work across multiple teams to resolve issues.

    About the teamThe Katalyst tech team within Books has 11 Application Engineers, who support 6 business teams by providing application development, process automation and workflow support services.

    Chennai, TN, IND


    BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

    • 3+ years of software development, or 4+ years of technical support experience Experience in software development Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems Experience in Unix Experience scripting in modern program languages Full stack application development expertise using Python/Java/Javascript Experience utilizing development frameworks like Flask, Django or Spring/Boot or Express etc

    PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    • Knowledge of web services, distributed systems, and web application development
    • Experience with REST web services, XML, JSON
    • Experience working with REST API based services
    • Experience scripting in one or more language (e.g. Bash, Python, Perl, Ruby)
