Duties


Basic Function of the Position:
This position is in the Facility Management Office (FAC). The position will report to the Water and WasteWater Treatment Plant Operations Supervisor.

The incumbent operates New Embassy Compound (NEC) Raw Water Treatment Plant, Wastewater Treatment Plants, and other utility systems that support 43 acre compound.

S/he will ensure that potable water is treated in accordance with Bureau of Overseas Buildings Operations (OBO) standards and is safe for consumption by Embassy community.

S/he will ensure that wastewater effluent meets OBO standards and is safe for discharge for use in compound automatic irrigation system.

S/he maintain systems capacity and reliability is to ensure continuity of Embassy operations. S/he implements preventative maintenance and repair program. S/he investigates and acknowledges plant operations alarms and responds to emergencies including power outage and equipment failures. The incumbent will also perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Evaluations


Requirements:


EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Three years of experience at the journey level in the operations or maintenance and repair of raw material treatment plants or wastewater treatment plants or similar plant systems.

Education Requirements:


Completion of Secondary School (Class XII) and vocational training as producing journeyman level technicians with specialization in mechanical or HVAC or electrical or plumbing technicians or treatment plant operators.

LANGUAGE REQUIRED:

Level 3 (Good Working Knowledge) in English & Hindi (Speaking, Reading, and Writing) is required. English language may be tested.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Valid Indian/International Light Motor Vehicle (LMV) driving license is required.**

Locally Employed Staff, including Members of Household (MOHs), and Third-Country Nationals (TCNs), working at the U.S. Mission in New Delhi, India may receive a compensation package that may include health, separation, and other benefits.

For EFMs, benefits should be discussed with the Human Resources Office.

The pay plan is assigned at the time the conditional offer letter is issued by the HR Office.
