    Description

    Role & Responsibilities Overview:

    Collaborate with the investment team to identify data-driven insights and trends that can inform investment decisions and strategies.

    Develop and maintain predictive models and algorithms to assess investment risks and returns, including but not limited to asset allocation, portfolio optimization, and market forecasting.

    Utilize advanced statistical and machine learning techniques to analyze historical financial data, market trends, and economic indicators.

    Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from various sources to ensure data quality and consistency.

    Create data visualizations and reports to communicate insights and recommendations to the investment team and senior management.

    Monitor and evaluate investment portfolio performance, making real-time adjustments as necessary to maximize returns and mitigate risks.

    Stay up-to-date with industry developments, financial regulations, and market dynamics to ensure compliance and adapt investment strategies accordingly.

    Contribute to the development of investment strategies that align with the company's financial goals and risk tolerance.

    Collaborate with data engineers and IT teams to implement data solutions and infrastructure for data analytics and reporting.

    Guide jr team members, overlook their work deliverables and provide mentoring (as required)

    Expected to work in close collaboration with the Client team and EXL team on establishing relationship with stakeholders, identify new opportunities, areas of growth.

    Candidate Profile:

    Bachelor's/Master's degree in economics, mathematics, computer science/engineering, operations research or related analytics areas; candidates with BA/BS degrees in the same fields from the top tier academic institutions are also welcome to apply

    Preferred experience in Investment Analytics with strong knowledge of investment products including fixed income, public equity, private equity, private credit, venture capital, real estate, the energy transition and more

    Overall 5+ years of experience in analytics domain

    Understand key financial terminologies and working including financial statements, regulations etc.

    Proven experience in applying data science and machine learning techniques to investment and financial analysis.

    Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages, such as Python, R, and SQL.

    Strong knowledge of financial markets, investment instruments, and economic factors.

    Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

    Effective communication and presentation skills to convey complex findings to non-technical stakeholders.

    Certifications or coursework in data science, financial modeling, or investments are a plus (including CFA/FRM/CA)

    Experience with data visualization tools, such as Tableau or Power BI, is beneficial.

    Knowledge of other investment-related software and tools (Bloomberg, Aladdin etc.) is preferred

    Strong record of achievement, solid analytical ability, and an entrepreneurial hands-on approach to work

    Outstanding written and verbal communication skills

    Able to work in fast pace continuously evolving environment and ready to take up uphill challenges

    Is able to understand cross cultural differences and can work with clients across the globe
