As an Advanced system Engineer in ECS (Environmental control system)

  • Systems Engineering team, you will be responsible for systems engineering activities for aircraft Environmental control system, Inerting system, life support system.


Honeywell Technology Solutions' (a corporate arm of Honeywell) 'Mechanical Systems & Components (MS&C)' ECS team contributes to the design, development and deployment of highly complex air and thermal systems, mechanical components, and wheels and braking systems.


Key Responsibilities:

Ø Applies an interdisciplinary, collaborative approach to plan, design, develop and verify a lifecycle balanced system.

Ø Write quality systems requirements.

Ø Requirements based engineering (RBE): Requirements Validation /requirements analysis/ requirements decomposition/ requirements management.

Ø Drive design reviews (TCR, TBR, SRR, PDR, CDR, TRR)

Ø Develop Test cases and procedures for Systems verification & performance testing.

Ø Test data reduction.

Ø Customer notifications and customer interactions

Ø Process optimization via automation.


Qualifications:

Ø Masters/Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Automotive/Aerospace engineering discipline with 8-10 years of relevant experience.


Knowledge and Experience:


Ø Experience in requirements management (DOORS skill set, compliance matrix, baselining, requirements change process, estimate effort associated with requirements management, understands concept of traceability and coverage).

Prior experience in gathering the needs & requirements.

Ø Ability to write the Qualification Test Plans and Procedures (QTP's) and Qualification Test Reports (QTR's)/Similarity analysis.


Ø Knowledge of aircraft Environmental control system (ECS), cabin pressure control system (CPCS), Life support system (LSS) /HVAC (heating ventilation air conditioning).

Ø Experience with aircraft pneumatic or electromechanical systems and components (valve / actuator / motor / turbomachinery / heat exchanger / sensor / controller.

Ø Knowledge of interface between aircraft/engine and environment control systems (ECS) & Life support System (LSS).

Ø Knowledge of Requirement/configuration management tools like DOORS / Clear case.

Ø Knowledge of MATLAB/dxl scripting.

Ø Experience in test data reduction

Ø Knowledge of the systems development life cycle

Ø System thinking and ability to view a problem from a system's perspective.

Ø Knowledge of aerospace industry standards (RTCA DO-160, ARP4754A, ARP4761, MIL standards) and regulatory requirement (FAA, EASA, CAAC)


Ø Experience in conducting system test by understanding scope of test and reviewing test procedure, reducing and plotting test data to make sense of data and preparing reports.

Ø Experience in communicating with senior management.

Ø Ability to adapt dictated by project changes & ability to work independently.

Ø Willingness to learn new technologies.
