What We're Looking For

Analyse the business requirements and translate them into technical specifications and architectures.
Perform design, debug, and performance analysis on M365 Services
Ensure the quality, security, and compliance of the M365 Services to Internal & External standards (e.g ICOFR,TSA)
Document and share the best practices and lessons learned from the M365 projects.
Provide guidance and support to the development teams and other solution architects.
Identify emerging trends and technologies within the M365 and Workplace sector, helping shape our roadmap for innovation and growth.
Collaborate with BT Product Owners to innovate, refine and enhance our M365 services and offerings to customers.
Understand our M365 Platform and associated products and work closely with relevant BT systems and tribes to ensure technical alignment.
Ensure our M365 capabilities stay ahead of the curve and can exceed customer expectations.
Work with Enterprise Architects and Business stakeholders to develop and execute strategies to ensure BT is a market leader in delivering customercentric M365 capabilities.
Ability to direct and guide a team of architects, solution designers and engineers in the tribe.

What you'll be doing - your accountabilities

Endtoend Architecture Strategy/Roadmap and Design of the Tribe product/ solutions
Sets and drives the architecture strategy/roadmap aligned to the Tribe's vision. Drives adoption of the strategic architecture, balancing the outcomes needed of the tribes (including transition states)
Recommends to the Tribe Lead the expected outcomes balancing customer value and technical debt
Guides on the technical shaping and feasibility estimates for epics and features, identifying major dependencies.
Responsible for bringing together other subdomains from others CFUs that use the same capabilities that the tribe needs
Architecture Demand understands the domain architecture relevant to Tribe products development and collaborates with Sub-Domain Architects to ensure the subdomain strategic architecture runway aligns with business needs and timescales
Drive Tribe engineering excellence, quality assurance and technical debt optimization and backlog of tech debt the tribe has built.
Tribe product/solution architecture meets the nonfunctional requirements:

Performance

Ensure the continued uptime/reliability, integrity, performance and maintenance of the Tribe's experience layer.

Security

Work closely with security architecture & blue teams to evolve M365 security capabilities as part of wider security architecture portfolio.

Economics

Optimizes the TCO of the tribe architecture, ensuring the affordability of the IT with the subdomain architect

Modernisation

Ensure the tribe is following Cloud native guardrails and modernizing the relevant tribe components.
Leads the creation of reusable patterns and lowlevel designs.

Stakeholder engagement

Support the tribe lead with stakeholder engagement to develop and gain support for proposed solutions, providing technology expertise and identifying efficiencies within deployed Technology.

SME

Operates as an SME within own field of expertise and acts as expert advisor to other teams and senior management on the most complex architecture related issues.

Customer Centric

Promotes and adopts empathy driven design for customer centric products.
Inputs into the budget planning process to ensure the relevant funding needed to advance the architecture is requested and identify where lack of funding is slowing the overall architecture rollout down.

What you'll need:

Proven experience as a solution architect or a similar role across Office 365 & Power Platform (5 years+)
Experience with Archiecture of Azure Workloads to support M365 Services (e.g Azure Automation)
Experience with Entra ID security (e.g conditional access, information protection) & Microsoft Defender XDR.
Experience with Mobile Device Management using Microsoft InTune desirable.
Experience with agile development methodologies and tools.
Experience of delivering M365 transformation at scale.
Excellent communication, collaboration, and problemsolving skills & strong stakeholder management experience from junior developer through to CEO
Experience of Enterprise Architecture Frameworks including TOGAF, and their relevance to the practice of Enterprise Architecture (TOGAF certification not essential).
