Finance Control


The Financial Control job plays a key role in the management of organizational practice alignment to the United States Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) act and audit coordination through continual testing of internal finance controls.

This job assists with remediating gaps found through the testing process, while also working with external auditors to ensure the organization is compliant with SOX standards.

Under moderate supervision, this job supports various efforts across the finance team, while also providing independent suggestions for potential improvements.

Key Responsibilities and Duties

  • Analyzes the design and operation effectiveness of internal finance controls.
  • Reports findings and/or gaps discovered through financial controls testing.
  • Works with internal and external auditors to provide requested information.
  • Partners with process owners to ensure business processes are adequately documented within narratives and flowcharts.
  • Participates with development of remediation plans to address internal control deficiencies and failures arising from testing process.
  • Prepares control changes including additions, deletions and modifications to ensure the best possible control SOX framework is active within the organization.
  • Assists in the preparation of the annual SOX audit plan based on internal risk assessment processes.
Educational Requirements

  • University (Degree) Preferred
Work Experience

  • 2+ Years Required; 3+ Years Preferred
