Description

Position Overview:

We are currently looking for a skilled Database Architect to join our team. As a Database Architect, you will be in charge of designing, optimizing, and structuring database schemas, mainly focusing on PostgreSQL and other databases, ensuring the efficiency, scalability, and reliability of our database solutions.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and maintain database schemas following best practices and scalability principles.
Architect database schemas to meet scalability and performance requirements.
Optimize database schemas for efficiency and performance, including indexing strategies, query optimization, and data normalization.
Collaborate with development teams, product managers, and system administrators to understand requirements and design suitable database solutions.
Perform database performance tuning and monitoring to proactively address performance bottlenecks.
Implement and uphold database security policies to safeguard the integrity and confidentiality of our data.
Evaluate and suggest new database technologies, tools, and practices to enhance database solution performance and efficiency.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior database administrators and developers.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field. Master's degree is a plus.
Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Database Architect or similar role, focusing on database design, optimization, and administration.
Expertise in developing and optimizing database schemas, especially in PostgreSQL.
Solid understanding of database architecture principles like data modeling, normalization, and indexing.
Proficiency in SQL programming and database query optimization.
Experience with database performance tuning and monitoring tools.
Strong knowledge of database security practices.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills working in cross-functional teams.
Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

Preferred Qualifications:

Certification in database administration or related field (e.g., PostgreSQL Certified Engineer).
Experience with other database technologies such as MySQL, Oracle, or MongoDB.
Familiarity with cloud-based database services like Amazon RDS.
Knowledge of DevOps practices and tools for database automation and deployment.
