The Risk, Middle Office, and Control (RMOC) Management Team will partner with all other control disciplines, adding an additional line of defense supporting Compliance, Risk and Audit, among others.

The Control Management team will work in partnership on the development of new, and oversight of existing, control functions and protocols throughout the Firm and will provide a centralized view of and from all control functions, assisting in immediate, real time problem detection and escalation.

This process will enable the firm to engage the appropriate teams in a timely manner and provide the ability to quickly remediate critical control issues across all the impacted areas of the firm.


With Control Managers appointed for each Line of Business, Function and Region, there is a comprehensive coverage and joint accountability model with the business executive that promotes early operational risk identification and assessment, effective design and evaluation of controls and sustainable solutions to mitigate operational risk.


The Risk Reporting, Middle Office and Control team has members bring a global perspective and globally coordinated approach to compliance oversight.


As a Control Manager Associate supporting multiple LOBs/Functions within RMOC, including Asset and Wealth Management (AWM) Risk, Commercial Banking(CB) Risk, Wholesale Credit Risk(WCR), and Climate Risk/Global Environmental Social Risk Management (GESRM), you'll be responsible for ensuring these LOBs/Functions have a sustainable and disciplined Control environment, delivering the Firmwide programs and initiatives on a complete and timely manner, identifying and escalating issues with a sense of urgency, and partnering with the business to maintain a health and collaborative control environment.

**Job responsibilities

  • Facilitate Control related discussions, including participation in regulatory related initiatives (including regulatory coordination and remediation activities), ad hoc presentations with stakeholders to ensure that controls are properly designed, operating effectively, and essential to a proactive risk and control culture that leverages proven evaluation strategies and sound change management protocols in a timely fashion
  • Oversee controlrelated activities, provide control related due diligence to foster a proactive culture, to deliver consistent and rigorous operational risk practices and Control programs including control committees, risk mitigation, key risk indicators, control design and effectiveness evaluation/testing
  • Own and lead the implementation of Firmwide controlrelated programs and initiatives, including but not limited to User Tools (UT), Intelligent Solutions (IS), Estimations (Models, Analytical Tools and Quantitative Models), Data Control Standards, Consecutive Leave (CL), across multiple LOBs/Functions within RMOC
  • Manage Quarterly and Annual Confirmation/Certification process for the Firmwide programs and initiatives, engage closely with business partners and stakeholders to ensure timely delivery of the control activities and compliance of the Firmwide Policy and Governance Standard
  • Evaluate, analyze, track, and monitor control environment for weaknesses and develop issues and action plans to ensure progress toward planned completion dates via Control and Operational Risk Evaluation (CORE) administration
  • Support regular and ad hoc reporting presentations, initiate proactive, meaningful, and impactful content timely, completely and accurately, take efficient meetings and escalate as appropriate
  • Lead Control Management for Risk projects including regulatory and exam support which includes providing controls oversight and guidance to business partners, with potential development and delivery of training sessions as needed to educate partners

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Experience in financial services implementing effective Controls within control management, audit, quality assurance, risk management, or compliance preferred and demonstrable familiarity with regulatory requirements
  • Strong communication (oral and written) with high degree of comfort communicating with business partners and senior management
  • Ability to analyze problems with keen attention to detail; ability to analyze and aggregate data, and identify root causes
  • Motivated, selfstarters that are results orientated and are able to operate effectively in a large, matrix organization
  • Team play
