Role Purpose
HSBC Markets & Securities Services is establishing an offshore capability to support the front office.

As part of this, Global Markets is looking to recruit talented and driven individuals in a number of areas to support sales teams across the globe.

This will enable the onshore sales teams to dedicate more time delivering better service to clients and make it easier for customers to do business with HSBC.

The role provides exposure to both front office sales teams and Global Markets products whilst offering opportunities to directly liaise and develop relationships with other teams.

The Sales Support team is responsible for remotely supporting the APAC based Investor and Wealth Solutions Group within GM.

The team focuses on markets across the APAC region, dealing in equity derivatives products in both Note and OTC formats for clients such as Private Banks, Wealth Managers and Institutions.

The responsibilities of the role are broken down further as follows;

  • Take ownership of pre and post trade processes such as producing termsheets, creating ISINs, updating systems etc
  • Maintain uptodate termsheet and overlay templates
  • Liaise with front, middle and back office to investigate and solve any settlement issues
  • Create tools to automate day to day processes
  • Perform MI analysis on revenue figures to provide regular colour on the business
  • Monitoring of inventory and actively following up on existing products so the sales team is able to optimally focus their resource
  • Prepare presentations on trade ideas with guidance from the Sales team
  • Aid the sales team in pricing of quotes requested by clients

Key activities and decision making areas

Work within the Global teams on:

  • Product development
  • Idea generation
  • Work with Structuring to create products based on research themes suited to specific client/industry
  • Support execution of transactions including securing internal approvals from relevant control groups

Typical Targets and Measures

  • Ensure delivery of tasks as per the predefined timelines
  • Evidence of effective support for problems / requests

Customers / Stakeholders

  • GBM Service Centre management in Bangalore
  • CSG team, Global Structuring team, Trading and Sales as well as Sales management in the United States
  • Control groups relevant to the business
  • Market Risk, Credit Risk, Legal, Accounting, Tax, Reg Capital, Operations etc.


  • Internal Collaboration

  • Develops close and effective working relationships within respective Functions /Businesses
  • As part of the team, to develop a good relationship with the Hub teams, to ensure communication lines are fluid.

  • Ensure stakeholder satisfaction through timely delivery of quality work
  • Feedback from team members in United States
  • Timely completion of tasks and successful execution of transactions.

Leadership & Teamwork

  • Work to ensure seamless communication and teamwork

  • Liaise with structuring teams in the hubs

  • Offer solutions to problems, supporting with the continuing development, implementation and improvement of the processes, structures, capabilities, capacity and infrastructure needed

  • Adequately work on projects and initiatives leading to proven process or functionality improvement
  • All processes are designed with adequate controls built in

Management of Risk

  • The jobholder will also adhere to and be able to demonstrate adherence to internal controls. This will be achieved by adherence to all relevant procedures, keeping appropriate records and, where appropriate, by the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, including issues raised by external regulators
  • The jobholder will adhere to all relevant processes/procedures.
  • Also and when applicable, by ensuring adequate resources are in place and training is provided, fostering a compliance culture and optimizing relations with regulators.
