JOB SUMMARY

  • The Delivery Excellence Hive coach drives our aspiration as a Bank to excel at delivering value to our Customers and improving the ways of working of our people and teams. The role is an outcomesdriven transformation partner to delivery teams (Hives, Squads, Expertise Teams) that drives continuous improvement of delivery performance measured via OKRs, DORA, Flow Metrics, Resiliency, etc.
  • To be successful in the role, you must have (1) courage to call out gaps in our ways of working and constraints to our Flow of Work, (2) use data and insights to analyse and highlight the isues, (3) align improvements to clear business outcomes, and (4) use a variety of practices and tools in your arsenal to solve them.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Strategy

  • Continuously align ways of working within and across the hive to deliver on Objectives and Key Results, improvement of KPIs, and realizing efficiencies in alignment to the scorecard.
  • Communicate the benefits of digital transformation through the lens of ways of working practices to both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Steer the transition of Hives to a Product Delivery Organization that builds and maintains its products, services, and capabilities, and embed high performance culture and continuous improvement on delivery productivity and ways of working.

Business

  • Collaborate with Hive Leadership to establish Transformation roadmap and continuous tracking
  • Be the change model the agile mindset, values, and principles of team ownership and shared accountability, skin in the game, and striving to do better every day.
  • Provide datadriven analysis and improvement opportunities on delivery productivity, and work with leaders and teams to address them
  • Aligns teams towards frequent delivery of value, with evidence of continual improvements in S2V (Speed To Value) at Hive level.
  • Proactively works with the hives to manage to capacity, support quarterly planning and achieving >80% completion of work in a quarter
  • Drives a customer focus, evidenced by improvements in NPS
  • Ensure Hive Leadership focus on Hive wide DORA metrics improvements
  • Reviews the hive structure regularly and constantly seeks to 'shift left'

Processes

  • Lead process improvement initiatives with a clear business case through various tools (A3, Kaizen, Improvement Kata, Process Reviews, etc.)
  • Continuously seeks to improve the hive construct to minimise handoffs and dependencies
  • Challenge and steer improvement of processes, governance, team design, org structure, funding models to improve delivery performance, productivity, and efficiency

People & Talent

  • Continually work with the Delivery Excellence Lead to align capability to the strategic roadmap, coaching, mentoring and training their people to grow and improve.
  • Coaches hive leadership on servant leadership, scaled agile concepts, improvement roadmaps, product roadmaps with clear customer focus and benefits.
  • Train, coach, and mentor leaders and teams on key principles, practices, and ways of working of a Product Delivery organization (customer collaboration, direct feedback, iterative development, product discovery, shiftleft and xbydesign, etc.) and adoption of new technologies and how to drive digital transformation
  • Creates a talent pipeline amongst their Delivery Excellence Experts (Squads) to create a succession plan
  • Be the mentor and collaborate with the Delivery Excellence Experts (Squads) to drive Transformation outcomes aligned with business scorecard

Risk Management

  • Proactively and courageously identify, analyse, and steer solutions on organizational impediments and constraints to productivity, quality, early risk mitigation, and continuous delivery of value

Governance

  • Speak up and proactively flag gaps and deviations to the key principles, Ways of Working Standards and Change Delivery Model as a Product Delivery organization, and steer execution of improvement plans to address them.

Regulatory & Business Conduct

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.
  • Lead to achieve the outcomes set out in the Bank's Conduct Principles
  • Effectively and collaboratively identify, escalate, mitigate and resolve risk, conduct and compliance matters.
