    Corning Manufacturing, Technology and Engineering Role in Asia

    The Manufacturing, Technology and Engineering (MTE) division at Corning is renowned for its engineering excellence and innovative manufacturing technologies. We are dedicated to providing diverse skills to support both existing and emerging business ventures at Corning.

    Purpose of the Position:

    The position involves supporting Corning's Manufacturing, Technology and Engineering (MT&E) corporate engineering directorate in Asia, overseeing manufacturing plants in the Asia-Pacific region. The role may require extensive travel to India, Vietnam, Taiwan, Japan, China, South Korea, Europe, and the USA.

    Projects Involved:

    This position will focus on implementing efficient automation and process machine systems in Corning's manufacturing plants. The role will involve collaboration with various departments including manufacturing, control systems, and process engineering.

    Day to Day Responsibilities:

    • Ensure accuracy and high quality of work
    • Develop process equipment design concepts independently
    • Communicate effectively through various mediums
    • Document activities and results
    • Oversee vendor direction in equipment construction

    Education & Experience:

    • BS or higher degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field
    • Minimum 3 years of experience in mechanical design and equipment construction

    Required Skills:

    • Proficiency in AutoCAD, SOLIDWIRKS/Inventor software
    • Detail-oriented with excellent communication skills
    • Proactive, flexible, and quick learner
    • Strong computer skills
    • Customer-oriented with ability to build effective relationships
    • Manage multiple priorities successfully

    Desired Skills :

    • Experience in precision equipment design and automation integration
    • CAD/CAM proficiency
    • Knowledge of FEA engineering analysis
    • Strong mechanical drawing comprehension
    • Familiarity with GD&T, Pneumatic, and Hydraulic systems
    • Experience in manufacturing methods
    • Project management and communication skills
    • Knowledge of industrial safety standards

    Travel Requirements:

    Possible 75% international travel depending on project assignment. Travel primarily in Asia with occasional trips to the US and Europe.

    Domestic business trips to India may be required based on project needs.
