The Role Responsibilities

Processes

  • Lead the operational process and support on system aspects of Group Corporate Planning, Budgeting Restatement, Target setting and Forecasting processes.
  • Build and leverage SME expertise to drive change and support the leadership in delivering the key change agenda.
  • Lead and deliver on the Outlook process and drive automation to streamline the process.
  • Lead and engage on reengineering existing process / identifying and scoping potential automation and efficiency opportunities.
  • Provide thought leadership and leverage process/domain expertise to lead process reengineering and change initiatives opportunities.
  • Support reporting and analysis team for Group Planning outcomes and adhoc senior management requests.
  • Partner with Global Process Managers and leaders to design and implement Standard Global Processes across all areas of planning and track implementation effectiveness and gaps on a continued basis.
  • Develop key people management and stakeholder management skills to move into People Manager / SME roles.
  • Engage and influence Finance stakeholders with continuous focus on "Big Picture" and enable the decision support in line with Group FP&A strategy.

Risk Management

  • Monitor operational risk across planning processes and escalate key risks to right forum.

Governance

  • Ensure compliance with Group Code of Conduct and Social agenda of the organization.

  • Display exemplary conduct and live by the Group's Values and Code of Conduct.
  • Take personal responsibility for embedding the highest standards of ethics, including regulatory and business conduct, across Standard Chartered Bank. This includes understanding and ensuring compliance with, in letter and spirit, all applicable laws, regulations, guidelines and the Group Code of Conduct.

Internal

  • All the CFOs, Business and process leads across Countries and Group
  • Various business heads of GFS
  • HR, GPS, Finance, Risk and Compliance

External

  • External consultants on Project implementations
  • Senior members of other Finance Shared Services Centres in the industry
  • Peer group companies related businesses
  • Chartered Accountant or MBA with years of relevant finance experience in Planning activities.
  • Expert process management and reengineering skill set, including experience of leading system and process change initiatives.
  • Substantial experience of banking, depth and breadth of knowledge in processes especially in the areas of Planning and Management accounting and related processes.
  • Experience in operating within large virtual teams and relationships across a complex network of stakeholders including senior management.

Role Specific Technical Competencies

  • Strong Senior stakeholder management experience including interfacing and influencing.
  • Strong strategic mindset coupled with a thorough understanding of Planning processes in Banking Industry to be an 'agent of change'.
  • A leader, a team player with the management ability and track record to secure the confidence and respect of the peers, stakeholders and the executive management team.
  • Have an excellent Systems skills (preferable planning systems), communication, analytical and decisionmaking skills. A strong selfstarter with natural intellectual curiosity.
