Career Description:

As a Database Administrator, you will be responsible for maintaining and optimizing our database systems to ensure maximum uptime and performance.

You will work closely with other members of the technical team to design and implement database solutions that meet the needs of the organization.

Additionally, you will be responsible for managing database security, backups, and disaster recovery processes.

Primary Responsibilities:

Solve highly technical and complex problems.
Conduct the following for Azure SQL/CosmosDB/Azure SQL MI/SQL on Azure VM, On Prem SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, Azure Synapse and other related products as applicable and necessary
Install/Configure/Setup/Administer and Maintain production and non-production environments
Setup High-Availability and Disaster Recovery
Plan and test high availability and disaster recovery
Create Users and assign/manage permissions based on the level of access the user would need; ensure robust and full proof security of assets
Resolve database integrity, performance, blocking, connectivity, and replication issues.
Detect and resolve database-related CPU, memory, I/O, disk space and other contention issues.
Perform and manage Database backup/recovery/restore and capacity monitoring
Synapse workload management and optimization
Setup SQL agent jobs, elastic jobs and runbook automation
Identify and setup alerts and logging in Azure
Maintain databases - Statistics, Indexes, fragmentation
Conduct Performance tuning and optimization (Stored procedures, Views, Functions, Queries, database)
Implement operational automation using scripts.
Coordinate removal and/or archiving of data that is no longer required to be available in the production databases.
Deploy and configure SSIS packages and SSRS Reports. Troubleshoot issues with SSRS and SSIS.
Design and create databases to support development initiatives
Synapse workload management and optimization
Support release/code deployment activities

Knowledge and Skill Requirements:

Must have an Associate's Degree in Computer Science, Math, Engineering, MIS, or IT related from an accredited institution, BS degree preferred; or 3 years of full stack development can be substituted for BS degree,
Minimum of 2 years experience in fullstack software development, preferred 5+ years
History of successfully developing software following an Agile methodology
Understanding of CI/CD
Strong customer focus.
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, enterprise software, asynchronous architectures, and objectoriented programming.
Ability to work independently
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Ability to present new ideas, approaches and information clearly
Outstanding attention to detail and organizational skills
Diligent work ethic and insatiable desire to learn and develop skills
Ability acquire new knowledge quickly
Strong interpersonal skills
