Media planner
Media planners devise strategies for advertising campaigns so that they reach their target

audience and have the intended impact within an agreed budget. This involves understanding

the audience, their needs, and preferred media and platforms, as well as the brands aiming to

reach them.

Roles and responsibilities

  • Responsible for the creation of multi-vertical media plans as per the process and following the due date.
  • Client pitch presentations
  • Being up to date with new media properties

Day-to-Day Work

  • Internal or client meeting to understand the campaign brief
  • Usage of media tools such as Adex, Adclarity, BARC, and TMA planning tool
  • Creating media planning presentations using the abovementioned tools
  • Attending plan presentations and pitch meetings
  • Capturing the client feedback and implementing the learnings
  • Tracking and monitoring the progress of assigned planning requests

Must-Have

  • 23 years of experience in a marketing role (brand) or 23 years of client servicing experience in Digital marketing/media agency


  • Problem solver

  • Ability to understand the problem and develop solutions in an ambiguous environment


  • Agility

  • Willingness to quickly learn and adapt to a fastchanging environment


  • Strong communication

  • Excellent verbal and written English language capability
  • Good logical reasoning, arithmetic, and analytical abilities
  • Working knowledge of MS Excel & PowerPoint
  • People management and team handling skills
  • Ability to carry out quick online research to find insights/data


  • Quick to observe

  • Trends in the market, Campaign issues, client expectations, team issues

Good to have

  • Experience in working with media planning/market research tools
  • Basics of data visualization tools like Power BI, Tableau,etc
  • Experience in digital media planning
