    We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of Manager, MSS Compliance (Client Assets Protection) GSC's.

    Responsibilities

  • The role holder will support the Head of Client Protection Compliance in all aspects of Client Assets and Depositor Protection risk stewardship. The role will involve working with businesses, operations and regulatory compliance colleagues in Global Markets, Security Services, ISV as well as the RFB regulated entities.
  • The role is for an experienced client asset protection professional to proactively assess risk, identify issues and support the business to determine appropriate solutions and generally mitigate the Bank's regulatory risk.
  • The role holder is expected to help coordinate and deliver detailed technical guidance and advice to all relevant parties and will work with the Team to ensure that similar standards are in place across all UK regulated entities that are subject to the FCA CASS & PRA Depositor Protection regulations.
  • The role will lead the development and creation of standardised processes and practices across all Group entities that hold client money and/or assets and deposits by implementing minimum Group standards.
  • The job grade is GCB 4 and the individual will form part of the Global and Regional Regulatory Compliance team that provides independent oversight and challenge of risk management practices across the Markets, Securities and Issuer Services businesses, Global Functions and second line in other jurisdictions, to obtain reasonable assurance that they are operating in line with relevant laws, regulations, codes and HSBC Group Standards and Client Assets Policy.
  • The individual will partner with Regulatory Change and other regulatory SMEs to understand new and revised regulatory requirements, codes of practice etc. ensuring changes and impacts are disseminated to the appropriate businesses, functions and / or jurisdictions.
  • Principal Accountabilities:Key activities and decision making areas

  • Analyse data to identify potential themes/risk for further review.
  • Attend governance and product meetings to provide advice and challenge.
  • Review and enhance CAP and business policies and procedures to mitigate risk.
  • Keep abreast of regulatory and legislative changes and provide advice to enable the business to implement changes and operate in a compliant and controlled manner.

  • Requirements

    What you will need to succeed in the role:

    For this role, you'll have experience of, or transferable skills to develop:

  • Subject Matter Expertise (SME) in Client Assets regulation (FCA CASS rules) with a particular experience of custody and markets application CASS Chapters 3, 6, 7, 9 as well as 10.
  • Awareness, working knowledge or skill in PRA Depositor Protection rules and FSCS SCV requirements.
  • Significant experience in Governance, Reporting and/or Risk Management together with business management.
  • Experience of working within a matrixed environment preferred, including reporting internationally.
  • Ability to analyse data and identify risks or draw conclusion for further review/escalaiton
  • Be able to communicate clearly and succintly with stakeholders across seniroty in writen and verbal forms
  • Be able to create, contribute and edit high quality reports and MI. .
  • Ability to interpret and analyse a large volume of information including regulatory documents and / or data and provide succinct summary for senior management.
  • Ability to prioritise conflicting demands and problem solve in a dynamic environment.
