JOB PURPOSE:

  • Extend support to immediate Superior for maintaining smooth and efficient ARFF operation.
  • Function as the Crew In-Charge of the CFTs.
  • Successfully handle the maneuvering and Operation of the CFTs during emergencies by coordinating with the ops commander.
  • Conduct regular drills in shift, carryout periodical testing and inspection of Fire safety equipment kept in the CFT.
  • Assist the passengers/Occupants to a place of safety during emergencies.
  • Function as FWT incharge, keep vigil over the Aircrafts during landing, take off & taxying for aircraft related incidents/accidents at Fire Watch Tower (FWT).
  • Functions the roles and responsibility at FWT as per DAEP, coordinate with external agencies and maintain the log book.
  • Ensure healthiness of communication systems and keep in touch with AOCC & main FWT during emergency
  • Upkeep of firefighting installations at terminals for smooth handling of airport emergencies.

Key Performance Indicators
To test and ensure proper functioning of ARFF watch tower equipments and communications systems.

  • Serviceability status in ARFF watch tower check list.


To monitor aircraft movements in maneuvering area, initiate necessary actions and coordinate with concerned emergency response agencies as per Aerodrome Emergency Plan and Standard Operating Procedures in case of any emergency situation involving aircrafts, buildings, and other critical facilities at RGIA for effective incident management.


  • Occurrence reports in ARFF watch tower controller log books.
To obtain report from Manager

  • ARFF Operations/ Lead Firefighter Operations with regard to serviceability of all ARFF appliances and initiate defect rectification with concerned agencies and maintain the records.
  • Defect reporting and rectifications records in ARFF watch tower defect docket register.


To maintain liaison with Air Traffic Control, Airport Operations Control Centre, Airside Operations, Technical Services, IT&C, CISF-Security Operations Control Centre, Airport Medical Center, Airlines and Telengana State Disaster Response & Fire Service for day to day smooth operations, necessary clearances and obtaining changes in critical airfield information.


  • Occurrence reports in ARFF watch tower controller log books.


To maintain records of ARFF vehicular movements, aircraft incident/ accident, fuel spillage, structural fires and other incidents occurring within the jurisdiction of Rajiv Gandhi International Airport for the purpose of evidence and audits by the regulatory and certification authorities.


  • Occurrence reports in ARFF watch tower controller log books.


To monitor the Building Management System console and CCTV system and to take necessary actions in case of any abnormality is noticed.


  • Occurrence reports in ARFF Watch Tower controller log books.


To take necessary actions to mobilize additional requirement of resources including manpower during emergencies/accident as per direction of Incident Commander.


  • Watch Controller log books.

EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONS:


10+2 with Basic Training in Airport Rescue and Firefighting, and be fluent in English as the lecturers, operational commands and communication through VHF R/T and TMRS are given in English.


  • Graduation or equivalent (Desirable).
  • Basic Aviation Firefighting Training and Medical First Aid.
  • Fire Officer/ Junior Fire Officer training. (Desirable)

RELEVANT EXPERIENCE:


  • Min. 8 years of relevant experience in Aviation Fire / Industrial Fire Services out of which 5 years should be in supervisory grade.
  • Should possess good communication skills to carry out Radio Telephony communication.
