Requirements:


Skills Set

  • Master's degree in library science/Information Science/Documentation Science/Computer Science/Information Technology with at least 60% marks or an equivalent grade on a point scale wherever the grading system is followed, and consistently good academic record.
  • Ph.
D. Degree in Library Science/Information Science/Documentation Science/ Archives and Manuscript Keeping/ Computerization of the library from prestigious reputed universities.
year's experience as an Assistant Librarian/ College Librarian in a reputed university.

  • Evidence of innovative library services including integration of ICT in the library
  • Should have handson experience in Library Automation, Discovery Platforms, and Digitization activities of the library & Information centers.
  • Qualifying in the National level test conducted for the purpose by the UGC, or any other agency approved by UGC. Ph.
D. / M.Phil. degree in Library Science/ Information Science/ Documentation/ Archives and manuscript-keeping is desirable.


Job Role

  • The Deputy Librarian shall work under the supervision and guidance of the University Librarian of the University.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the library and follow systems, procedures, and policies implemented by the University and develop them as needed.
  • Responsible for providing various Library services and media technology and assisting in the library operations, organizing, and cataloging the collection, researching automation, and vendor options and studying their effectiveness, and providing reference services by utilizing conventional and electronic database resources.
  • He/ she shall evaluate and select materials to support the university's academic curriculum and educational needs.
  • Taking the lead to the direct team in the collection of data & statistics and visualization for decision making
  • Team player and able to lead team.
  • Perform supervision of staff reporting
  • Good Communication and networking skills
  • Coaching and mentoring skills
  • Knowledge of the library latest developments and technology
  • Able to take a lead in special projects like RFID implementation etc.
  • Perform library outreach activities.
  • Perform library marketing activities & promotional activities.
  • Knowledge of project management
