    Description

    Position Overview

    We are seeking exceptional candidates with experience and passion to fill the Solutions Architect position in Digi-Key's new Global Capability Center (GCC), based in Bangalore, India. This global center is an integral part of Digi-Key's strategy to develop new digital offerings in order to deliver superior value and sustained impact. The Solutions Architect is pivotal and holds end to end responsibility for design, development, and delivery of innovative eCommerce applications that are fit to purpose.

    Responsibilities

    Must be able to:

    • Maintain portfolio of applications, technologies and processes for a specific business unit and analyze for gaps and weaknesses
    • Responsible for leading the practice and introducing the overall technical vision for a solution or application
    • Describe the structure, characteristics, behaviour, and other aspects of the software to business stakeholders
    • Assessing the systems architecture currently in place and working with technical staff to recommend solutions to improve it
    • Maintain current and future state architectural models for a specific business unit
    • Proven experience in Marketplace business domain, tools and technology platform.
    • Strong understanding of online marketplace business models, ecosystems, and associated technologies.
    • Experience in leading API Integrations with Marketplaces like Amazon, Flipkart, Myntra, or Snapdeal
    • Responsible for conducting regular design and code reviews, and share constructive feedback with team members
    • Manage gaps, lead in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and applications within a business unit and create migration plans
    • Interface with IT and business leaders to maintain technology and business road maps
    • Participate in the evaluation and implementation of new technologies and applications
    • Lead in mainstreaming new technologies, systems and solutions
    • Lead in sunsetting legacy applications and technologies
    • Represent specific business area(s) interest in the advancement of the state of architecture
    • Learn from project teams about the "things that work" and make recommendations to improve best practices and standards
    • Lead in identifying and recommending design alternatives for business systems
    • Conduct architectural reviews of business unit solutions to improve quality and reinforce best practices
    • Lead in the design of business unit solutions
    • Provide thought leadership in at least one functional area

    Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience

    Minimum/Essential Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in an IT related field with a minimum GPA of 3.0, or relevant work experience
    • 12+ years of experience in application/solution or technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, information analysis, database management or operations
    • Passionate about product development, and significant expertise in .NET WebAPI, .Net Core, C#, ReactJS, Node JS, MongoDB, SQL Server etc.
    • Extensive hands-on experience in development / coding in relevant technologies
    • Proactive and highly organized, with strong time management and planning skills
    • Credible, confident and articulate, with excellent communication, presentation skills and interpersonal skills, and deliver ideas clearly and concisely to internal and external stakeholders at all levels of seniority
    • Knowledge of business systems in at least one line of business

    Novice understanding of and working experience with:

    • Monitoring product capabilities
    • Business case creation
    • Financial impact and cost benefit analysis techniques
    • Intermediate and transformation tool functionality and usage
    • Relational database concepts and design
    • Business Intelligence and data warehousing development techniques
    • Architectural modeling and approaches and tools
    • SOA concepts and practices
    • Application development, infrastructure or database disciplines
    • Application development languages, deployment platforms, content management and BPM/workflow tools and methodologies
    • Security concepts and practices
    • Must demonstrate the following behavioral competencies; analytical capacity, attention to detail, communication proficiency, customer/client focus, ethical conduct, initiative, manages execution, personal effectiveness/credibility, positive attitude, problem solving, professionalism, project management, thoroughness, and time management

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Advanced degree in IT

    Other typical tasks may also include:

    • Ability to travel - domestically and internationally as needed/requested
    • May lead/participate on cross-functional committees, task forces
