The Finance Controller - Pharma will be responsible to manage full set of accounts (USGAAP and Local GAAP), FP&A function and ensure local statutory and legal compliance.

This role will prepare budget, latest estimates (LE) and timely and accurate corporate reporting, as well as develop cost accounting function and analysis and handle Secretarial and Legal support.


Core Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Finance and Accounts function for the country operations right which includes day to day accounting to group reporting (USGAAP)
  • Preparing IGAAP financial statements and liaison with financial auditors for statutory financial audit and tax audit for tax filings
  • Ensure the integrity of financial reporting including balance sheet reviews and maintaining account reconciliation quality as per corporate directives
  • Work with business team on financial budgets. Monthly and quarterly business review of the actuals against goal
  • Ensure adherence to group internal control procedures and customize controls for local operations where necessary
  • Manage the treasury operations for the country fund forecast, hedging FX exposure, optimizing fund productivity
  • Ensure compliance for corporate tax and transfer pricing including tax filling, documentation and assessment representations
  • Ensure compliance with other statutory acts like GST, Customs VAT, excise, and service tax
  • Ensure compliance with Companies Act requirements and coordinate with the regional legal team and corporate secretary on India specific drafting and legal interpretations
  • Coordinate with Shared Service center and Mumbai HO to make processes more efficient and responsive.
  • Regular travel to manufacturing sites for supervision and control
  • Support business team for the decisions which drive business operations and growth
  • Engage with key customers as a business partner to maintain superior standards of account servicing
  • Drive business team for KPIs directly influencing the business (CCC, GP, etc.) and devising MIS to facilitate control and ease of business operation
  • Prepare and validate the annual budgets and latest estimate (LE) for legal entity. Prepare Quarterly Business Review (QBR), Monthly business Review (MBR) and other business reports to the business owners
  • Support Pharma segment growth in India
  • Partner country & finance head in process improvements and new initiatives
  • Coordinate with supply chain to ensure seamless logistics functions e.g. warehouse management, delivery, compliances
  • Coordinate with customer service for monthly forecasting and compliances
  • Identify and drive cost savings opportunities through efficiency savings
  • Improve processes to deliver smooth experience by challenging status quo.
  • Vendor management review, select vendors for goods & services, review and negotiate terms and keep regular servicing

Mandatory requirements:

  • Degree in Accounting, or related field/ Qualified Chartered Accountant/ Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
  • 5+ years' experience in Finance Controlling or FP&A in manufacturing industry


  • Strong IGAAP

  • Accounting standard knowledge
  • Experience in finalised financial statements
  • Fluent in English and local language with good interpersonal skills
  • Microsoft Office, and exposure to SAP, BPC, BW is a must
  • Strong analytical and conceptualisation skills.
  • Has good presentation skills
  • Able to travel regularly to manufacturing sites at Malegaon & Ahmedabad

Desirable requirements:
