Purpose of the role


To plan, organize and manage all aspects of the Human Resource requirements in stores and warehouses in an efficient and effective manner to enable the business to meet short term and long term objectives.


Principal Responsibilities

  • Manage employee life cycle process for store and warehouse employees.
  • Enable sourcing and hiring of CSAs, apprentice, contractual employees and store management team
  • Ensure that the required manpower is hired for new stores as per plan and induct them as per process.
  • Ensure compliance to all labor laws and regulations through audits and store manager education
  • Ensure that all contract workmen are hired, paid and managed as per applicable contract labor laws by the concerned service providers
  • Drive awareness of Code of Conduct and POSH in the stores to ensure a fair and equitable work environment
  • Attend to grievances from the stores and DCs, ensure timely redressal through counseling and escalating where necessary
  • Have oversight of the manpower count and costs for the stores assigned and educate store managers on productivity metrics
  • Partner with business to roll out & effectively implement productivity improvement initiatives at the stores and warehouse.
  • Drive performance management process in DCs through the periodical reviews and performance improvement plans
  • Actively manage the careers of DC employees through career development programs and assessments to build the talent and succession pipeline
  • Drive training adoption through digital, virtual instructor led and on the job training programs to ensure capable teams in the stores and warehouse

Knowledge / Education

  • Min Graduate, PGDM or MBA in HR desirable
  • Must have 56 years of experience in Retail HR Operation along with regional language expertise managing onroll and offroll employees
  • Should have experience in recruitment, onboarding, training, performance management etc
  • Knowledge about the Regional Retail Market and local labour laws. Experience in managing industrial relations is desirable
