The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center (INOPC) is a competence center with around 1500 skilled engineers who focus on tendering, engineering, planning, procurement, functional system testing, installation supervision and commissioning.

However, over the last decade, it has evolved to become the largest engineering hub. The India Operations Centre is a key aspect of the Power Grids business Power Up transformation program.

The Hitachi Energy Indian Operations Center team at Chennai supports Hitachi Energy's units in more than 40 countries across a wide portfolio of all the four business units in Power Grid business.

To date, the team has executed engineering and commissioning for projects in more than 80 countries.

Mission Statement:

General IT Infrastructure Systems Administration work focuses on installation, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems software and hardware for multi-user server computers and/or personal computing devices including:

Meeting end user needs by ensuring the uptime, performance, resource availability, and security of the computers managed within established budgets and operational guidelines.-
Acquiring, installing, and upgrading computer components and software and planning for/responding to service outages and other problems.-
Automating routine tasks using scripting and writing basic computer programs to address more complex systems software configuration and enhancement.-
An Experienced Professional (P2) applies practical knowledge of job area typically obtained through advanced education and work experience.-
May require the following proficiency: Works independently with general supervision.-
Problems faced are difficult but typically not complex.-
May influence others within the job area through explanation of facts, policies, and practices

Your Responsibilities:

Driving collaboration between Infrastructure Operations with the Product Development DevOps team to define and continually improve deployment and upgrade processes. Implementing and/or enhancing a standard and centralized strategic monitoring solution eliminating multiple monitoring sources and processes
Delivering high availability auto scaling containerised deployments in Azure/AWS Design innovative solutions via automations to eliminate any manual and repeatable deployment and support tasks and improve operational effectiveness.
Work with Kanban and Scrum methodologies followed by the Infrastructure Operations team.

Your Background:

Bachelor's degree in software engineering, computer science, information technology, information systems, or similar. Minimum of 3+ years' experience with a DevOps team involved with implementing software deployments in Azure or AWS.
Ability to thrive in a fast, high intensity, deadline driven environment, dealing with multiple projects.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to work with different teams within the organization and with partners, vendors, and customers outside the organization.
Willingness and flexibility to support a 24*7 support and Devops model by working early morning and late evening hours as necessary.
Demonstrable experience delivering high availability auto scaling containerised deployments in AWS or Azure.
Kubernetes & Docker experience.
In depth understanding of continuous integration, continuous delivery, software configuration management, version control and release management.
A demonstrable understanding of the full Software Delivery Lifecycle.
