Overview:


We are seeking a professional DBA with the technical skills including software updates, security patching, performance analysis, build of new environments, support for projects, monitoring and alerting, and the overall health of the platform.

Looking for Strong Oracle Senior DBA with automation skills, innovative mindset and/or some cloud, agile, Database DevOps. The Senior Database Administrator (DBA) is responsible for 24/7 administration of all database systems in the enterprise. The position manages backup and recovery, security, performance tuning and optimization across multiple database management systems.

The position assists with architectural design and implementation of new databases as well as upgrades and improvement to existing databases.

The DBA troubleshoots and resolves database related issues, participates in the design and implementation of database environments to meet the needs of the organization.

The position works closely with Application Analysts, System Administrators, and others to ensure database integrity and availability. The DBA implements and monitors replication, data movement and integration across the organization.


Requirements:


  • Experience manage enterprise RDBMs across multiple platforms and environments such as Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, and Sybase running on Microsoft Windows, Linux, or UNIX.
  • Experience conducting database maintenance, performance tuning and optimization such as tuning SQL principles and methods.
  • Expert knowledge of database architecture, design principals and procedures
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolving database related issues.
  • Ability to architect database environments to meet the needs of the organization.
  • DBA focusing on Oracle Database on a Unix/Linux platform, including version 12c, preferably in a lead role.
  • Configures Physical and Logical Data Guard, Replication, Messaging Queuing
  • Performs Performance Tuning
  • Ability to write Shell Scripts, SQL, PLSQL and analyze OEM Reports.
  • Ability to work with Customers on various Managed Services and Professional Services Projects along with a team of Engineers based in Onsite and Offshore locations.
  • Experience with AWS or Azure or other Cloud Platforms
  • Experience with Data Guard and GoldenGate replication technologies desirable. Experience with Oracle RAC and/or Exadata a plus. Experience in Microsoft SQL Server a plus.
  • Experience should include monitoring and alerting through OEM 12c or 13c, capacity planning, performance tuning, storage management, RMAN backup and recovery, managing schemas, and proficiency in the SQL language.
  • Ensure 24x7 database availability.
  • Ensure database recoverability with thorough knowledge of RMAN backup and recovery scenarios. Contribute to the creation and maintenance of disaster recovery plans.
  • Proactively manage and maintain standards and controls to ensure data security and privacy.
  • Must have sound communication skills with management, development teams, vendors and systems administrators.
  • Must be able to work independently on issues and prepare RCA documents.
