About the role


The
Principal - Data Governance and Risk will report to
Global People Data Management, Governance and Reporting Lead within the Global People Data Analytics (PDA) team
in the HR function.

The purpose of the Global People Data Analytics (PDA) team in
GSK is to generate insights by leveraging science and people data to drive strategic people decision-making at scale.


A comprehensive people data strategy, along with robust data management and governance is critical to enabling the team to deliver its purpose.

The focus will be to ensure that the people data strategy fully supports the delivery of strategic and operational plans.

Driving data-based people decision making would provide
GSK a strategic advantage towards meeting its priorities and getting ahead together.

Leads data governance for HR data based on data strategy for the function. Acts as a trusted data advisor for HR stakeholders. Influences strategy, continuously improving data governance.

Governs data in all or selected areas of data management:
quality, operations, storage, reference and master data, data standards, security, metadata.

Responsibilities include governing data changes per stewardship rules, such as data standards, security, quality, driving stewardship rule improvements, analyzing data, providing data quality insights (e.g. coverage, panel stability), providing training, developing training materials, providing interpretation consultancy, acting as an SME, developing and reinforcing data privacy rules and guidelines, defining and updating metadata. Leads change management from data perspective.

Act as the Data Privacy and HR Risk liaison for People Data and Analytics initiatives; includes working with the HR Country Heads, Legal team, and Works Councils to ensure we have the right approvals for the potential use-cases.

Implementing the necessary governance model (i.e. data access, data retention, disaster/recovery, etc,) based on stakeholder requirement and
GSK's data retention policy.


Job Requirements:


  • Education: bachelor's degree
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in Data Governance/ Data Risk and 5+ years in Data risk and privacy.
  • Familiarity with data management concepts, including data governance, data quality, and data integration.
  • In depth expertise in Metadata management, Data Quality Requirements, Data ownership concepts.
  • Proficient in using industrystandard tools for data governance (Informatica, Collibra etc.)
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving skills, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
