The Demand Planning team creates and maintains accurate item/location level forecast models for a group of product categories
. Responsible for achieving desired forecast accuracy metrics, supporting sales and profit goals while achieving inventory productivity and in-stock goals.

Job Summary:

The Demand Planner creates and maintains accurate item/location level forecast models for a group of product categories.

Incorporating business intelligence, historical performance, and insights gathered from merchants, suppliers, marketing, planning & replenishment, and other sources into the demand forecast.

The Demand Planners is responsible for achieving desired forecast accuracy metrics, supporting sales and profit goals while achieving inventory productivity and in-stock goals.

Roles & Responsibilities:


Core Responsibilities:


  • Develop demand forecasts (operational forecasts) at multiple levels of aggregation for
multiple time horizons as part of a demand planning function.

  • Responsible for implementing item/store level forecasts based on industry trends and demand
patterns for a group of product categories

  • Partner with crossfunctional teams for new items that support product lifecycle milestones
  • Ensures forecast accuracy metrics are achieved
  • Propose and implement changes to improve demand forecast accuracy
  • Regularly maintain forecast algorithms to support
  • Successfully communicate forecast and inventory estimations to management
  • Monitor and report on important changes in sales forecasts, budgets, and business strategies
  • Conduct monthly forecast maintenance
  • Address demandrelated issues in a timely and effective manner

III. Years of Experience
Overall 3+ years of Experience

  • 3 years of experience in Supply chain Management or Inventory Management 2+ years' experience demand planning
  • 2+ years' experience reporting and data analytics

IV. Education Qualification & Certifications (optional)

Required Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Operations Research or Related Field
  • MBA or master's degree in Supply Chain

V. Skill Set Required

Primary Skills (must have)

  • Experience in Data mining and visualization tool such as PowerBI, SQL, MS Access and Excel
  • Experienced in Blue Yonder Demand Planning
  • Experience in building analytical models, proficient in mathematical and Statistical analysis
  • Experience in or knowledge of Demand Planning, Financial Forecasting with use of modeling
and simulation tools

  • Excellent writing and communication skills, including the ability to develop analytical
documents for presentation to management

  • Demonstrated experience in mining data from multiple systems via database analysis tools
  • Ability to manage and manipulate large data sets for use in analytical tools
  • Excellent problemsolving and time management skills
