    About the Job:

    Borneo is seeking a dedicated and hands-on Security Engineer who will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop innovative products that align with our commitment to protecting privacy and maintaining compliance in the use of ML and Generative AI. As a Principal Security Engineer, you will be instrumental in designing, implementing, and maintaining security frameworks and controls offered by Borneo's platform. You would play a pivotal role to ensure the platform not only meets current user needs effectively but is also scalable and adaptable to future cloud technologies and challenges.

    Responsibilities:

    • Design, development, and delivery of security and compliance products, maintaining a balance between innovation, technical feasibility, and market demands.
    • Work closely with cross-functional teams to design robust security frameworks and controls tailored to protect data used in training and querying LLMs.
    • Design robust, scalable, and secure architectures to support compliance and security controls across various public and data clouds.
    • Lead, mentor, and build the security teams, setting clear goals and expectations while fostering a culture of innovation and accountability.
    • Optimize existing security frameworks and controls for performance improvements and extended functionality.
    • Collaborate with automation teams to conduct rigorous testing and validation of security features, controls, and remediations to ensure they effectively mitigate identified risks.
    • Maintain detailed documentation for the design of security and compliance products, ensuring it is easy to understand, enhance and use.
    • Participate in high-level client meetings to provide technical expertise and support.
    • Innovate and conceptualize new features and functionalities that enhance user experience and extend the platform's capabilities.

    Required Experience:

    • Master degree in Computer Science, Information Security or a related field with 10+ years of experience in a hands-on coding role.
    • Extensive experience in product development, particularly in security and compliance software sector.
    • Strong development skills, including proficiency in Golang. Good grasp on Go concurrency models and practices.
    • Strong analytical skills to understand complex regulatory requirements and turn them into actionable solutions.
    • Excellent communication skills to effectively convey compliance requirements to non-compliance and non-technical teams.
    • Proactive, independent worker capable of taking initiative in a fast-paced startup environment.

    Preferred Experience:

    • 3+ years of experience with cloud security, ideally in AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud environments.
    • Thorough knowledge of SQL and experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and MySQL.
    • Working knowledge of workflow management and orchestration frameworks.
