  • Taking dictation and to transcribe.
  • Maintaining filing system in the Office.
  • Maintaining record of the Appointments of the department.
  • Sorting out routine correspondence independently.
  • Carrying out follow up jobs according to the time schedule.
  • Ensuring that office discipline is maintained.
  • Maintaining the secretarial call of the Department, and assist the HOD in efficient running of the Department.
  • Handling the reception of patients and other visitors to the HOD Office in a courteous and friendly manner.
  • Answering telephone calls, taking messages for HOD, dealing with enquiries from patients and their relatives in a helpful and courteous way.
  • Maintaining and making entry into the computer database set up in the HOD's Office.
  • Photocopying pages/documents and various other tasks directed by the HOD.
  • Having good word processing skill and have sound grammar knowledge.
  • Be efficient in disposing of dictation and typing work.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology would be advantageous in case of typing of correspondence, reports, minutes of meetings and other documents at the request of HOD.
  • Performing other duties of comparable responsibility that may be assigned from time to time.
