Job Description:
Senior Database Developer


The senior database developer will be responsible for maintaining the integrity and performance of the company databases and guarantee the data is stored securely and efficiently.

The senior database developer will also provide strategic guidance and implementation of the corporate data warehouse and the corresponding data feeds


Roles and Responsibilities:


  • Minimum of 6 years of working experience as DBA with MySQL and NOSQL, Mariadb, Percona databases and/or other databases is mandatory.
  • Provide DB engineering support for different types of databases such as MySQL, Redshift, DynamoDB, RDS and MongoDB
  • Deployment of database with high availability (over the Cloud/ VM and bare metal servers) and scalability Manage the entire DB cluster with performance, scalability, security, and availability considerations.
  • Parameter configuration and tuning, cache management, job scheduling
  • Design and implementation solutions for high availability, replication, and disaster recovery solutions.
  • Maintaining database security
  • Strong understanding of relational database structures, theories, principles, and queries (SQL)
  • Monitoring performance metrics, response times, and request rates, alerting, object access logs.
  • Experienced in managing code on Github.
  • Manage the DB replication, backups and restore procedure executions.
  • Must be familiar with all replication technology: mastermaster, masterslave, circular etc. Perform 24x7 advanced tier troubleshooting, including offhour maintenance and optimization activities, problem resolution, and oncall.
  • Knowledgeable on Distributed database deployment and MySQL DB performance tuning and query optimizations DB debug log and troubleshoot database errors DB cluster setup with multicloud and DR setup
  • Monitor the DB with various tools like PMM / Shell etc.
  • Set and maintain database standards & guidelines Adept at Linux commands and Shell scripting
  • Execute adhoc queries on production for data import / download requests.
  • Good handle at PL/SQL procedures and triggers Write automation for repeated DB tasks
  • In depth knowledge of SQL and PL SQL Strong Analytical Skills Good spoken and written communication experience with AWS RDS (Aurora-MySQL, DynamoDB and Redshift etc.) is added advantage.
