• The Physical Design team is part of the Design and Customer Experience team in the organization and is responsible for conceptualizing, designing, prototyping, and manufacturing the next generation of Mixed Reality devices that will be used by millions of users globally in the coming years. The team works closely with electrical, optical, systems, mechanical design, and manufacturing teams to design quality, highvolume, consumer products that our customers love.
• The Senior Mechanical Designer works with the interdisciplinary team of industrial designers, simulation engineers, Optics & sound engineers, electronics engineers, QA testers and manufacturing team, to take products from concept to production while shaping the experience of users with this new paradigm of mixed reality computing.
• Consulting managers and clients about design requirements and continuously coming up with new product designs that fit product and functional requirements.
• Testing product designs using models, prototypes, specialist computer software and computer aided design (CAD) technology.
• Developing products from concept to factory production while keeping within budgets and timelines set by the design manager. Research, learn and implement design guidelines, best practices, and design standards.
• Show great involvement in teamwork and promote consultation and collaboration with their team fellows.
• Give and solicit feedback from other designers to continually raise our bar for quality.
• Ensuring that Quality System is followed in all daily activities.
• Actively participates to the design verification process within the team.

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Product Design or relevant field.
• 6+ years of experience in Mechanical / Product design.
• 3+ years of experience in designing for consumer products that have been launched in the market at scale.
• Advanced 3D surfacing and modelling skills with strength in SolidWorks, ProE (Creo), Catia, NX, ANSYS or similar software.
• Experience working within a gated new product development process. Proven product development skills and experience from concept right through to delivery
• Advanced ability to calculate 2D and 3D tolerances and communicate essential form and fit dimensions through GD&T on detail drawings.
• Experience in designing dynamic and static systems integrating mechanical and electronic elements.
• Experience collaborating on problems within a multidisciplinary R&D environment.
• A desire to mentor and coach young designers and engineers to develop their skills as new product developers.
• Managed projects as a handson employee using technical and administrative skills to oversee and complete engineering projects.
• Proven and advanced experience with injection moulded plastic parts (material selection, snap fits, structural ribbing, designformoulding and postprocessing).
