This position is responsible for the coordination and management of Flight Management Systems Navigation Database products requirements for airlines and aircraft operators worldwide.
This position ensures the NavDB is built to ARINC 424 standards and delivered on-time every 28 days to meet AIRAC regulatory requirements.
The Advanced Application Engineer role includes but not be limited to:
Coordinate with the customer on the requirements needed to build Navigation Databases
Use multiple proprietary IT tools, databases, and resources to create, code, validate, verify, and produce databases
Manage and design custom procedures specific to the individual needs of airlines, operators, and flight test engineering groups
Manage the database structure and contents with the scope and size limitations of various Flight Management Systems
Provide mentoring and guidance to peers
Lead troubleshooting and analysis of highly complex flight operations issues for airlines and operators worldwide
Use technical expertise to drive issue resolution from beginning to end and provide customers with an error-free solution in a time-restrictive environment
Work with Product Support Engineering, Design Engineering, Flight Test, CorePT, OneNav+, and Distribution teams to drive solutions for short-term and long-term investigations

Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business or other relevant discipline plus 5 years of related experience
Knowledge of Aviation principles and instrument flying procedures
Knowledge of Aeronautical Information Publications, Performance Based Navigation and cartographical maps
Knowledge of Air Navigation routes and expertise in Flight Instrument Charts
Additional/Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of ARINC 424
Proficiency with DO-200A and other regulatory documents pertaining to NavDB
Proven analytical, problem solving skills, and ability to translate solutions into practical actions
Solid MS Office skills, emphasis on Excel and PowerPoint
Presentation skills for customer visits and internal meetings
Effective communication skills for all levels of leadership
Ability to work well in a global team environment
Six Sigma Green Belt certification
Demonstrate an interest in/or have exposure to an Information Technology environment
Have inclination to understand multi-dimensional business and be energetic and ambitious
Thrive in a challenging work environment and be result-oriented
Ability to meet quality and schedule commitments with customer focus
