Summary:
A Medical Representative is a vital member of a pharmaceutical or medical device company's sales team.

Key Responsibilities:


Product Promotion:
Promote the company's pharmaceutical drugs or medical devices to healthcare professionals in a designated territory. Present the benefits, features, and scientific information about the products to potential customers.

Sales and Target Achievement:
Meet sales targets and objectives set by the company. Establish and maintain a robust customer base to drive product sales and revenue growth.

Relationship Building:
Build and maintain positive relationships with healthcare professionals, including doctors, nurses, pharmacists, and medical staff. Cultivate strong networks with key decision-makers to enhance product visibility and influence prescription habits.

Product Education:
Provide accurate and up-to-date product information to healthcare professionals. Educate them on the appropriate use, dosage, administration, and potential benefits of the products.

Market Intelligence:
Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and healthcare industry developments to identify opportunities and challenges. Report findings to the sales and marketing teams to develop effective strategies.

Territory Management:
Organize and manage the assigned sales territory efficiently. Plan and prioritize customer visits, follow-up activities, and promotional events to maximize productivity and results.

Compliance:
Adhere to all ethical, legal, and regulatory guidelines governing pharmaceutical or medical device sales. Maintain strict compliance with industry codes of conduct and company policies.

Reporting:
Prepare regular sales reports, activity logs, and expense statements for review by the sales management team. Use sales data to assess performance and adjust strategies accordingly.

Training and Development:
Participate in training programs and workshops to enhance product knowledge, selling techniques, and industry expertise.


Requirements:


  • Sales Skills: Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with customers, negotiate effectively, and close sales deals.
  • Medical Knowledge: Understanding of medical terminology and knowledge of pharmaceutical products or medical devices is highly advantageous.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to effectively convey technical information to diverse audiences.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Strong interpersonal skills with a customercentric approach. The ability to engage and interact with healthcare professionals in a professional manner.
