    Job Overview Summary:

    Spirent is seeking an experienced Senior DevOps Engineer to take a lead role in Spirent's VisionWorks development team. The ideal candidate is a highly talented and accomplished software professional who enjoys collaborating with other engineers and product owners following the Agile/SCRUM development process and takes pride in delivering scalable and reliable enterprise-grade software systems. This individual will lead the efforts to move VisionWorks development and deployment practices to a continuous integration and delivery model (CI/CD). They will also collaborate with other team leads and with key stakeholders to ensure that the services and components developed by the team integrate well into the Spirent VisionWorks platform.

    The VisionWorks Controller is implemented using a microservices architecture based on the Spring framework and it exposes its functionality using REST APIs and a JavaScript single-page web application.

    Job Responsibilities:

    • existing development and deployment flows for Visionworks Controller, Analytics, and Test Agents
    • gap analyses between existing flows and CI/CD flows
    • changes and enhancements to CI/CD delivery tools to support multiple development and deployment models
    • a practical migration strategy for aligning all VisionWorks component delivery and deployment processes to a common process
    • proof-of-concept (POC) executions of flow migrations to refine and finalize migration steps and participate in actual migrations
    • development stakeholders in the updated processes
    • with any DevOps activities as needed

    Job Requirement:

    • qualification of BE/BTEch/MTech/MS/MCA with 5+ yrs of relevant industry experience.
    • years of experience in continuous software development environments
    • years of experience with source-code control systems including Git and Subversion
    • years of experience with development automation tools including Gitlab, Github, and Jenkins
    • years of experience with virtual and cloud computing environments including VMWare and AWS.
    • years of experience with container management platforms and associated tools including Kubernetes and Docker.
    • with scripting languages including Unix shell varieties, Python, Perl.
    • written and collaborative communication skills.
    • with project management tools including Jira and Confluence.
    • knowledge of Unix/Linux varieties.
    • knowledge of TCP/IP network stack including VPN.
