What you will do:

Job Summary:

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct regular safety rounds and audits of the workplace to identify potential hazards and risks.
  • Knowledge of international codes and India regulations pertaining to occupational safety, incident reporting, construction safety, laboratory safety, chemical management, industrial hygiene, compressed gasses, wastewater treatment, Abatement systems, air permitting, and other environmental and safety aspects.
  • Experience implementing programs for construction safety, electrical safety & electrical energy controls, hot work safety, hearing conservation, respiratory protection, chemical hazards and chemical safety systems, and emergency response preparedness as per OESP Manual and Register of regulation [ ROR ].
  • Reviews requests to use new chemicals or changes in chemical use and provide guidance on required PPE, risk reduction, and impacts to regulatory requirements.
  • Must be able to lead emergency response events, and sustaining activities including emergency response plans, preparedness measures, training, drills, and supply procurement. Responsible for maintaining a fully staffed and trained Emergency Response Team.
  • Provide training and education to employees and management on safety practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Manages all regulatory agency EOH&S reporting and inspections.
  • Develops preventative controls to reduce risk of injury, property damage, and reduce risk to the company.
  • Investigate accidents and incidents to identify causes and develop corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation of safety activities, incidents, and corrective actions.
  • Work with management and employees to improve safety performance continuously and reduce incidents.
  • Monitor regulatory requirements and industry best practices to ensure compliance and recommend changes as needed.

Requirements:


Must have:


  • At least 10 years of field and management experience in EHS, preferably in a manufacturing, chemical or energy industry
  • Must be comfortable working in a laboratory, heavy machinery and construction environments.
  • Must have Knowledge of making and implementing HIRA and Aspect Impact Sheets.
  • Must be able to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fastpaced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, hazardous materials management, industrial hygiene, and risk assessment, in an Indian context.

Should have:


  • BE/ B.Tech/ M.tech degree in Environmental/Chemical/Mechanical/Industrial Engineering.
  • Internal Auditor for ISO 14001 & ISO 45001, Lead Auditor will be preferred.
  • Exceptional root cause and corrective/preventive action development skills.

Nice to have:


  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST), or Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM) certification, or certified in National Examination Board in Occupational Safety and Health (NEBOSH) is a plus.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management and employees.
  • Strong analytical and work place problemsolving skills.
