Global Delivery Services (GDS) provides enabling services to EY member firms, Service Lines, business support functions and Area/Global entities.

These services are provided via 3 service delivery entities:

GDS, Client Service - Assurance, Advisory, Knowledge, Tax and TAS, and GDS, Enablement Services - IT, Finance & Accounting, Risk Management Services, Talent Services, Business & Creative Services, Procurement services and GDS, Automation Central.

GDS is an important component of EY's Vision 2020 strategy, and has an ever-increasing footprint across the world, including five centres in India (Bangalore, Gurgaon, Chennai, Trivandrum and Kochi), plus Argentina, China, Poland and the Philippines.

GDS headcount is approximately 24,000 (June 2017) and predicted to grow to over 35,000 by 2020.

Account Centricity intern role will be initially part of GDS Client Service Operations and later moved to either Service Lines or retained in Client Service Operations based on demand/ deployment.


Job Summary:


GDS is currently running a program called Account Centricity Program (ACP) aligned with the Client Centricity pillar of the firm's NextWave strategy.

This is a program to drive account centric growth and future for GDS Client Services.

The intern is expected to be trained and made available to support with the program execution working with the program leader and other leaders in GDS CS.


Purpose of the Job:

Develop/sharpen skills (Initial 1-2 months)

  • Attend trainings relevant to Account Centricity, Business/ Digital Transformation, Strategy, wavespace and Design Thinking
  • Attend ACP orientation sessions
  • Attend wavespace orientation sessions
  • Attend Service Line orientation trainings and understand the skill needs of Business/Digital Transformation and Strategy engagements.
  • Sharpen skills on Business/Sector research, MS Power Point, MS Excel, Power BI etc.
  • Support ACP program with research, content development, program execution and reporting
  • Familiarize with business management concepts and be able to understand the big picture, objectives and expectations in program management
  • Imbibe the attitude to constantly improvise and innovate
  • Consistently demonstrate strong analytical and insight building capabilities
  • Learn to demonstrate executive presence in interactions

Program execution

Provide program management office support for ACP that includes among other things the following:

  • Governance operations
  • Content development
  • Reporting
  • Account team coordination
  • Research and analysis
  • Change management
  • Prepare high quality research reports or presentations on business or sector related topics
  • Prepare high quality presentations summarizing key discussion points and plan of actions discussed in account engagement meetings in GDS and with EY MENA
  • Manage schedules and be accountable and committed to meet turnaround timelines for deliverables and activities with top quality even under pressure
  • Assist in creative solutions to problems that come up at the program or account team level
  • Ideation of ways and means to enhance the efficacy of the program
  • Pursue selflearning and constantly seek knowledge on the firm, the program, the way we operate and our clients

Analytical/Decision Making Responsibilities:


  • Use research and internal EY reports and other materials to come up with insights and analysis on accounts and problems
  • Knowledge on strategy and analytics tools/methodologies will be preferred and very relevant.
  • Critical thinking and logical reasoning to substantiate observations and analysis is a must
  • Ability to develop alternatives and suggest best suited solutions to problems will be important quality
  • Prepare monthly and quarterly dashboards/ reports to track and report program progress
  • Proactive in dealing with issues and strong problemsolving skills; ability to work with ambiguity and build consensus across diverse, often global groups
  • Ability to work both independently and within teams, including virtual teams, with a focus on our culture and values
  • Professional maturity to confidently interact with leaders at Senior Manager and above levels

Knowledge, Competency and Skills Requirements:


  • Strong research skills
  • Strong research and Insight building capability
  • Strong in project coordination
  • Interest in Management consulting, Analytics, Research and Competitive intelligence, Outsourcing, Business operations will be very relevant differentiators.
  • Strong command over English language both oral and written
  • Strong MS PowerPoint and MS Excel skills. Experience in analytics
