    Description

    Job Description:

    Assist the development team with deploying containers in a highly available production environment with CI/CD tools such as Azure DevOps.

    To deploy a container is to bring a working container with an CLIENT application to a working and connect-able status.

    By doing so, the efficiency of the deployment process increases productivity and reduces the time required to test and approve the application changes for production release.

    As the DevOps administrator it's a primary accountability aside from automation and development operations to continuously increase application lifecycle efficiency.


    • Highly available production environments require at least one node should be capable of failure and all operations are to continue working normally.
    • Successfully perform administration activities in support of AWS and/or other public clouds.
    • Administrative activities include the monitoring of AWS Services, maintaining updates on required services if needed and adding new AWS services and resources.
    • CLIENT leverages AWS for the Route53 DNS along with other Public Cloud Initiatives.
    • Managed Kubernetes environments leveraging Rancher, EKS or AKS.
    • Orchestration of containers is the management of containers, to which management of containers is essential for high availability and efficiency of the docker environment.
    • Which includes updates of both the Kubernetes applications but the underlying host OS as well.
    • The Rancher Kubernetes environments and cloud Kubernetes environments.
    • CI/CD management of existing Jenkins environment and ensure regular security updates.
    • Innovate and improve the existing Jenkins environment by utilizing Jenkins plugins latest technologies.
    • Manage tomcat web containers on docker from development to production, making improvements when needed or assisting with developer improvement requests.
    • Assisting the development team with troubleshooting various tomcat web container issues related to development of and improvement of tomcat applications.
    • Maintain Azure DevOps environment, including CI/CD, repositories and related image storage and security.
    • Stay up to date on the latest DevOps technologies.
    • Attend DevOps related events to not only better learn about and stay up to date with the latest technologies but network with other professionals to gain better insight on current best practices.
    Implement regular updates of related DevOps components.

    • Be the primary oncall resource to handle any critical production issues that arise after hours.
    • Assist with ensuring proper monitoring of the entire platform, making sure alerting is working properly.
    • Work with the development team on improvements to their workflow process, how they leverage Jenkins, Tomcat and Docker.
    • Participate in other special projects and technology initiatives as required.

    Required Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in IT, computer science or related technical field or 6 years of equivalent experience with Linux, TomCat, Docker and/or Public Cloud.
    • 2+ years of experience in DevOps related fields implementing Docker and/or Kubernetes in a highly available Production environment.
    • 3+ years of Linux Operating Systems Experience.
    • 2+ years of practical knowledge and experience using CI/CD tools and using them to deploy Docker/Kubernetes in production and increasing efficiency with CI/CD tools to better deploy docker applications.
    • 3+ years of experience with web container applications.
    • 2+ years managing resources in Public Clouds used in Production.
    • 3+ years working with multiple development teams on multiple projects.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Public Clouds: e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP.
    • Kubernetes.
    • Continuous Delivery.
    • Any DevOps Methodology.
