SQL Database Administrator (DBA)Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented SQL Database Administrator (DBA) to join our growing team. As a SQL DBA, you will be responsible for the implementation, configuration, maintenance, and performance of our SQL Server databases. This role requires a strong understanding of SQL Server and its related technologies, as well as excellent problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities:

Install, configure, and maintain SQL Server instances across various platforms.
Monitor database performance, troubleshoot issues, and optimize database performance.
Design and implement database backup, recovery, and security strategies.
Collaborate with development teams to design and optimize database schema and queries.
Develop and maintain documentation, including database standards, procedures, and data dictionaries.
Create and manage database users, roles, permissions, and security policies.
Identify and resolve database integrity issues, performance bottlenecks, and other datarelated issues.
Perform data migration, data replication, and database version upgrades.
Proactively identify and implement solutions to enhance database reliability and availability.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to ensure successful implementation and ongoing operation of databases.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
4 to 8 years of experience as a SQL DBA or similar role.
Strong knowledge of SQL Server concepts, tools, and best practices.
Proficiency in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries.
Experience with database performance tuning and query optimization.
Understanding of database security and backup/recovery strategies.
Deep understanding of relational database concepts and data modeling principles.
Familiarity with high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) solutions.
Ability to troubleshoot and resolve databaserelated issues.
Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

Experience with other database technologies (e.g., MySQL, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
Knowledge of cloudbased database technologies (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database).
Familiarity with scripting languages (Python, PowerShell) for automation and monitoring.
Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
Industry certifications related to SQL Server administration.
