Department Description
General Counsel:
General Counsel (GC) is a trusted advisor to all parts of FIL, providing high-value independent advisory and assurance expertise through our specialist teams.
General Counsel Shared Services:
The General Counsel Shared services function is a global centre of expertise currently being built out in Dalian and India.
Three key verticals of GC shared services are:
- Reporting and Systems
- Central hub in GC for all reporting and systems related activities. Operations
- This is bouquet of various service offering for GC like Training Admin, support in Europe compliance, information barriers, legal and co sec ops. Investment Compliance
- Compliance team in India provides effective monitoring of FIL's funds to ensure compliance with funds' mandates and regulatory rules in verticals like trade monitoring, portfolio compliance, retail brokerage & communication
Global Investment Compliance:
The Global Investment Compliance (GIC) function provides advice, support, oversight, and challenge to teams across Fidelity's Investment Solutions and Services (ISS) business.
Purpose of the Role
The primary function of the role is to project manage multiple transitions, analyse, document, and design the processes associated with the GC Target Operating model to the level of detail required for implementation of the projects.
The individual should have experience of managing projects end to end specifically transitions, deliver process analysis, reengineering and design across projects which have multiple workstreams split across various teams and locations and preferably in a 2LoD oversight function such as Compliance including Investment Monitoring, Market Conduct and Portfolio Compliance Monitoring.
Responsibilities comprise of project managing, business and process analysis for transformation programmes including transitions in investment monitoring, market conduct and portfolio compliance in the domain of investment compliance:
- Perform project management activities:
- Transformations involving people, process, and systems
- Management of transition of activities to shared services
- Management of systems and tools implementation
- Stakeholder management
- Project tracking and reporting
- Business analysis & Process activities:
- Conduct process analysis and create process maps
- Document process and define metrics
- Create / adopt transition framework
- Identify improvement opportunities and work with stakeholders on resolution
- Analysis performance data for supporting decision making
- Leverage industry best practices for improvement
- Work with stakeholders to analyse requirements and define functional specifications for system deployment
- Experience in project management, business analysis & process design in projects across large financial services organisations preferably in compliance function of Investment Compliance where tangible efficiencies achieved
- Understanding of compliance in financial services industry specifically in Investment Monitoring & Market Conduct and Portfolio Compliance Monitoring
- Exposure to systems like CRD, SteelEye.
- Highly motivated, able to think logically, critically & quickly.
- Good understanding of concepts and practices relating to projects, processes, systems and databases
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a track record of coordinating and working with teammates and stakeholders across multiple locations to deliver projects and deliverables.
- Excellent business writing skills
- Ability to plan, organise, coordinate and work well under pressure and remain motivated while completing routine tasks.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Power Platform:
- Understand and translate business requirements into well-architected solutions using Microsoft Power Platform
- Develop and support custom solutions and interfaces using Power BI, Power Apps, Power Automate, Dataverse, and more
- High degree of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite:
- Proficiency in MS Power
