Job Title:
Executive Housekeeper


Reports to:
General Manager, Resident Manager, Room Division Manager


Responsible for:
All Housekeeping Staff, Standard of work & upkeep of Resort in high standard, Housekeeping Equipment


Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Conduct daily inspections of all guest rooms/suites and public areas to ensure furnishings, guest rooms/suites, equipment, housekeeping and food and beverage linens, public restrooms, lobby, are clean and in good repair to meet guest satisfaction
  • Organize, supervise, and coordinate the work of Housekeeping personnel on a daytoday basis.
  • Ensure excellence in Housekeeping sanitation, safety, comfort, and aesthetics for hotel guests.
  • Draw up duty rosters, supervise discipline, and conduct for the staff.
  • Conduct regular meetings to maintain proper communication within the department.
  • Participate in head department meetings and liaise with other departments for seamless coordination.
  • Hire, warn, and discharge employees when necessary, ensuring adherence to hotel policies.
  • Motivate and maintain high morale among the housekeeping staff.
  • Establish and maintain Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) for cleaning, initiating new procedures for efficiency.
  • Constantly search for and test new technology and products in housekeeping.
  • Maintain inventory of furniture, linen, and movable equipment, ensuring regular checks.
  • Organize maintenance and repair of guestrooms, handle articles left behind by guests.
  • Ensure proper uniforms for hotel staff and observe hygiene and safety precautions.
  • Offer suggestions to the HR Department regarding selection, recruitment, and placement.
  • Evaluate and upgrade employees when opportunities arise.
  • Organize and supervise onthejob and offthejob training for staff.
  • Prepare the annual Housekeeping budget for submission to the General Manager.
  • Be responsible for the redecoration and refurbishing of rooms, lobby, etc.
  • Check reports and registers, liaise between maintenance and housekeeping department.
  • Inspect and approve all supply requisitions and maintain inventory control procedures.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to drive change and operational efficiencies.
  • Synergies across the network.
  • Successful preopening experience is advantageous.
  • Awareness of new technology and products related to Housekeeping.
  • Knowledge of purchase specifications of Housekeeping articles.
  • Familiarity with financial statements and budgets.
  • Effective communication and pleasing personality.
  • Physical fitness with the highest grooming and personal hygiene standards.
  • Ability to think outside the box.

Minimum Requirements:


  • 8 to 10 years of experience as a housekeeping supervisor.
  • 2 to 3 years of experience as an Executive Housekeeper.
  • Strong operational and technical knowledge.
  • Successful preopening experience is a distinct advantage.
